Summary:

-We open at the diner from #4 with a waitress being questioned by a detective, she goes on to explain how Number Five viciously dealt with the mysterious men that confronted him and Pogo in self defense but with no mercy whatsoever.

-The detective (Lupo, as we find out) returns to his car where he finds The Kraken hiding in the back, they take a drive while Lupo fills him in on the accounts of several violinists and music virtuosos that have gone missing in recent months, worrying about Vanya (or something possibly resembling human emotion), Kraken leaps into action and out of the car.

-Back at the Academy, Pogo finds Number five rummaging through Hargreeve's office for the old man's revolver so he can use it on himself incase his plans to stop the Apocalypse goes south. He goes on to suggest Pogo might want to know what the diner incident was about, just as he starts his explanation by starting with the Kennedy assasination, he puts on Hargreeves' monocle and begins to experience bizzare visions of a naked chimp (seemingly Pogo) being experimented on while shouting "My GOD POGO! The Lab, I never KNEW--!" just before exclaiming he can't take it before bleeding from the nose and passing out.

-We cut to Rumor and Spaceboy on the roof making small talk about where their lives have gone, who they are and Rumor's daughter. The discussion takes a strange turn when the Rumor activates her powers and tells Space "I've heard a rumor that you've wanted to kiss me since you were eight years old", Spaceboy freaks out but is helpless and they make out as Seance watches in the background.....Wow.

-The White Violin arrives at the mansion just in time to cut the Horror's statue in half and blow Dr. Pogo's terrified brains right out of the back of his head as Number fives watches in amusement.

Five with a smile: "Fascinating"

Very interesting comic. Looking forward to the next issue and future minis.

It's "Pogo", by the way...

You're right.

Where the hell do I keep getting Pongo from?

This series rocks. I can't wait for another mini and to see the ending of this one. Great, great, great debut and a truly wonderful comic.

So...anyone want to take a crack at what the hell is going on with Number five?

Is everything he told us about the future a lie?

His comment about the Kennedy assasination was interesting, especially depending on where he was going with it since according to him, the only time he ever traveled to the past was to get back to the year he's at now.

He goes on to suggest Pogo might want to know what the diner incident was about, just as he starts his explanation by starting with the Kennedy assasination, he puts on Hargreeves' monocle and begins to experience bizzare visions of a naked chimp (seemingly Pogo) being experimented on while shouting "MY GOD, POGO! THE LAB, I NEVER KNOW!" just before exclaiming he can't take it before bleeding from the nose and passing out.

Actually it's "My GOD POGO! The Lab, I never KNEW--!" seemingly indicated that Pogo was a normal chimp at some point and was experimented on by their "father".

Yeah, I just caught that.

As much as I spell check, it literally amazes me how I can keep missing stuff like this, I literally wrote that summary just five minutes after reading the issue.

I can relate to Number Five in that I too am a fragile lil shell of a man with the brain of an 80 year old.
