It started this evening, with huge fluffy flakes. Right now it's little tiny ice bits. We have, oh, maybe 1/2 in., and it'll probably melt by tomorrow... but Finn has been dying to see some snow, so I let him go out and play in it for a few minutes. :D IIRC, it didn't snow at all last winter; all we got was a couple of ice storms.
He had such a blast, especially playing on his slide. :)

Sometimes I think Southern snow is the best. We never get so much you have to shovel it. Schools are automatically out so the kids get to stay home and play in it. And we get it so rarely that the novelty never wears off.
Ice storms, however, I can certainly do without.

I remember an ice storm in Mississippi when I was a kid. People lost their minds, pipes broke, schools closed, it was like the Apocalypse had come.

It's times like this I wish I still had expanded cable. They usually show southern drivers skidding all over the place trying to deal with snow.
In the trump department, we just got hit with another 6 or more inches the other day. The brother that lives with me shovelled the driveway. About an hour later another brother showed up with his big ass truck to plow it. Oh well, at least I didn't have to shovel anything this time around.

We got 5 or 6 inches, tops, at my place Sunday night/Monday, which wasn't TOO annoying. (They shut City hall down, that day, because it was still unclear if we were REALLY going to be south of the heavy-snow line or not. Happened, we were, but I got a day to sleep in, WOOHOO! (Well... somewhat... I STILL had to walk the dog...)
Solaris and I-M - I would GLADLY ship any snow we got off to Atlanta and Brooklyn... I don't drive and I don't ski... all I do is walk and fall down in it! (Although with less of the "falling down" part when I remember to put on my YakTrax™ (http://www.yaktrax.com/ProductsPro.aspx))

Snow. It's interesting if I don't have to leave my home.

Snow! where is it? I see none. Course I still at work in a windowless room. I just hope it sticks overnight so don't have to go to work. Sadly in Atlanta area, its takes 3-5 days of freezing temps and 2-3 days of rain before sticking becomes an issue.
Strange though considering just last Saturday it was nice enough to not even need a coat during the day.

Hopefully all this winter precipitation will help to recharge the Southeast's water tables, especially around threatened cities like Atlanta.
In the meantime... conserve. Concerve!

That sounds like some good snow. The only time it lay here this winter it lasted a whole night. We get far too much rain in Scotland.

Indeed, I call for more snow!
Or nice warm sunny weather, either or. ^^

Anything without wind would be acceptable at this point. Bah. Wind.

Still windy were you are? It's calmed down here.
Well, right now it's pretty calm.

It's really odd. I move to New York a little over a year ago and noticed last winter there was snow, but apparently not as much as usual according to the locals. This winter, there's barely any. What in the heck is up with that?

We got a very light dusting in Tulsa last night. Other than the huge ice storm that hit us before Christmas, this is the first frozen precip. that we have had this year.

It was bad this morning, but died down in the afternoon. As long as it stays that way until I get home.

We got snow here last week. After a brief thunder of hail. And after two minutes the snow turned to sleet.
You lucky southern bastards!
