View Full Version : Jamie's second dupe/the other future

I was just flipping through the "Life & Death Matters" trade and realized there's the dangling X-Factor plot thread of the old Mr. Tryp, from the future in which X-Factor reverses M-Day and the world is overrun by waring mutants.

I think chances are pretty good Forge sent Jamie's second dupe to this future.

I mentioned this when the two timeline thing became known.
And yea seems likely.

Umm... but that future was caused by X-Factor reversing the M-day...
anyway, They said that between M-Day and The-Day-The-Child-Who-Is-Not Jean-Reincarnated-Nor-Sage-Nor-Rachel-Grey-Nor-Madeline-Pryor-Nor-Layla Miller-Nor-Some-Famous-Mutant´s Daughter-was-born, there werent any future with mutants in it... so if Madrox ends there, the continuity mistake would be only more noticeable
But. I like the idea

I like the idea too, but I think it's Bishop's doomsday future that Madrox-dupe and Layla have flown in to. Also, fat chance that a big X-factor dangling plotline story of an off-shot future gets the spotlight as so.

Now, the identity of that damn baby is a frustrating separate matter!

Cable should officially name the child; The-Child-Who-Is-NotJean-Reincarnated-Nor-Sage-Nor-Rachel-Grey-Nor-Madeline-Pryor-Nor-Layla Miller-Nor-Some-Famous-Mutant´s Daughter. It would at least stop confusing so many readers.

Plus, it has quite the quaint ring to it.

Yes, and your point being .. ? The baby is save from the traitor. The baby supposedly reverses M-day. Madrox traveled to Bishop's future to reveal the traitor who was going to kill it. Madrox saved mutantkind. Madrox is leader of X-factor. I don't see the conflict here.

They said that between M-Day and The-Day-The-Child-(blabla) was-born, there werent any future with mutants in it...

Which is exactly what we saw in Messiah complex, isn't it? Between M-day and the day the baby was born there was no future with mutants. When the baby was born there were two futures.

I think it's Bishop's doomsday future that Madrox-dupe and Layla have flown in to.

There are two futures, future 1 is obviously Bishop's future, the thread is referring to the second future .. There were two dupes send to two different futures.

Also, fat chance that a big X-factor dangling plotline story of an off-shot future gets the spotlight as so.

And yet PAD has already mentioned the second future will be revealed in X-factor. Fat chance they ignore a future that is the exact opposite of the one Bishop's from? Fat chance they ignore that dangling plotline when PAD has said he was invited to participate in Messiah Complex because it plays directly into X-factor continuity?

That would clear things up quite nicely, but if they did that they'd just be spoiling her true secret identity as a skrull.

The thing about the second future is, maybe the baby plays directly into how X-Factor figures out how to reverse M-Day? Thus leading to old man Tryp's future further down the line.

I forgot about the second future--I thought this thread here was about the future we've seen so far in the complex (which is seemingly Bishop's), and did not hear of PAD mentioning it, but you're right, Pro. Guess it's not a fat chance..and you can put away your fat attitude now.

Um, maybe I have not explained myself well (it happens, English not being my mother language). My Point is: The First future showed in X-Factor, from where/when Mr. Tryp came, was already full of full-powered mutants, and it was in existence before the baby was born... It is a little continuity problem, but it difficults Mr. Tryp´s future an Bishop´s one being one and the same... but as I said, It makes sort of sense, and I like it a lot :o

Ah right, that makes clearer what you meant yea. But then again Bishop's future was also in existence before the baby was born. Both disappeared along with all other potential future but two timelines reappeared after the baby was born. One existed before the baby was born and returned, makes sense the other also existed. Don't think it's a continuity error. It's simply that before Decimation wiped any possible future with mutants out of existence, the baby being born creates two potential timelines where mutants survive in the future.

My big question is: why only two futures?
After the baby was born there are only two potential destinies? Not a single decision anyone makes in the next 80 years can result in a third option? Or in the infinite potential timelines we sawbefore Decimation? How come?
