In reading 52, I've come to be really interested in the character of Starfire. Aside from reading wiki, are there any stories about this character I should read/find? I'd prefer trades, but I will buy issues if I can find them. I'd like her origin, and any other important storylines for her. I know she was in the Teen Titans. Are there any Teen Titans stories that are Starfire-centric? Thanks!

She's a bronze goddess who wears almost nothing as a costume. Are you kidding me?

Thanks for the link. There is a similar list of appearances on www.comicbookdb.com . What I am wondering is, of these stories, which would be considered important to the story of Starfire? of her character evolution?

yeah I looked under pivotal story arcs but the person who did her page didn't list any. From reading her bio I know there are a few stories about her that seem relevant.

As a long-term Titans fan, I have to warn you that there isn't much to know about Starfire. She's a neat-looking visual, but not much more. The really important storyline you want to track down is New Teen Titans #23-25, where the Teen Titans go into space, visit Kory's homeworld, battle her sister and a whole lotta other aliens, and team up with the Omega Men. Who? The Omega Men. They had their own series for about five minutes.
Starfire got married a couple of times, but neither marriage lasted long. Her homeworld has been destroyed. Her people are warriors who like to wear impractical hairstyles and elaborate clothing into combat. Her sister is a very mean villain. Kory was in a relationship with Dick Grayson for a long-time. Geoff Johns didn't know what to do with her during his Titans run, so he handed her off to Judd Winick for the Outsiders, which was pretty much Winick's failed attempt to re-capture the feeling of the '80s Teen Titans, only older.

Thanks for the all the information. Perhaps my interest in her should be limited to reading 52. I will track down the Teen Titans story you mentioned and see how I feel about her from there.

I vehemently disagree. Kory is an uncomplicated and straightforward character, but that's one of the things that make her fascinating.
I'd recommend the following issues:
Tales of the Teen Titans #4
New Teen Titans vol. 1 #2, 8, 16, 23-26
Teen Titans Spotlight #1, 2, 19
Pretty much every issue of New Teen Titans volume 1 featured Starfire in some way. There were also a number of stories in New Teen Titans vol. 2 and New Titans that featured Starfire, but I've deliberately avoided reading those issues because I don't want to be depressed.

I too strongly disagree with that statement.
Starfire is one of the coolest, well written, interesting dc female heroes out there, anyone who says shes nothing much don't know what they are talking about. I also love how you after saying this go into detail about all the cool history she has going for the character.
Read the Infinite Crisis Outsiders Trade, at least the first Geoff Titans trade, also Countdown to Adventure mini thats going on right now is about 80 to 88% starfire/animal man.

THe New Teen Titans archives are good places to start. Vol 1 has her first appearance, vol 3 has the Tales of the Teen Titans issue with her origin.

Teen Titans Spotlight #1, 2
I don't own those two issues anymore, but I bet they were bad. Kory flies to South Africa to confront apartheid? Weak. I don't mind comics that take a stand on a timely real world topic. In fact, those early '70s Green Lantern/Green Arrow issues by Denny O'Neil were amazing. But Starfire and apartheid? Just not a good concept.

Granted, those issues probably haven't aged well, but they were a rare example of a Starfire solo story written by Marv.
