I only recently bought the 2 trades and I gotta say, by the far, the most awesome part was....

SPOILERS

..a tie between Quicksilver ripping that wannabe speedster to shreds by using his own super power against him and Tony breaking that bottle on Black Widow's face!! Talk about pwning the hell out of them! Excellent kick ass moments!

Why did you buy the trades why!!!!!? The pencil issue in the hardcover is totally worth it, this is as close to me actually owning Hitch's original art as it can be.

But yeah I agree completely about [SPOILER]
the moment when Quicksilver took the Hurricane past her limit. "What kind of limits did they take you up to back home? Mach five? Mach ten? I was hitting those numbers when I still had pimples!" One of the greatest line in the book for me personally. I never cared much about Quicksilver but that moment totally changed my mind. Another great touch is Hawkeye falling in slow motion and has absolutely no idea that Quicksilver just saved his life. But you see how both Quicksilver and the Hurricane move at supersonic speed, so does that mean they speak super fast as well? So their conversation can only be heard by the two of them, and all Hawkeye heard while he was falling was just some squeaky little voices like when you fast forward a video?

i think you're right about the voices!

i have both Harcovers 1 & 2, and aside from Millar's 'eff-you' by not including the Annuals, they are brilliant collections.

I'm glad I bought both Ultimate Annuals tpb's or else I never would've read Annual 1 or 2 for the Ultimates.

yea, Pietro sometimes speaks superfast so no one understand what he's saying. zi forget when he did that, but it's cool.

i've been thinking about this.

if they were going like Mach 10, then i dont think they'd be able to hear each other, in that their voices would be trailing behind - ie speed of sound, like a sonic boom occurs after a jet flies by

Are they in the Hardback?

I bought the hardback after my extreme annoyance with the delays. I loved it. Read it in one sitting.

I bought the hardback after my extreme announce with the delays. I loved it. Read it in one sitting.

same here, i was not affected by delays because i was waiting for the whole thing in hardcover, and both times (both volumes) i kn ocked them off in one sitting each.

but i'm fairly sure neither volume included the annuals. i think i remember reading somewhere that Millar chose not to include the annuals because he'd rather people picked them up in single issues.

which i can understand, from a sales point of view. if noone's picking them up monthly, then there wont BE any series.

BUT, what kills me, is the future generations who will miss out on the complete story in totality, because of this fact. wouldnt writers and artists want their collections to be complete and concise? dont they want their stories to become historical, at least in the comic sense?

you think they worried about this when they released Kree Skrull War?!
