Thoughts:

1. I was rootin for characters like Husk, Jubilee, and Morph because a.) Husk betrayed by Colossus left crying in a ball in the deep dark core, b.) Jubilee betrayed by Strong Guy left crying in a ball in the deep dark sewer, c.) Morph was just goofy funny. I thought Husk had one of the best stories in AoA, but Jubilee is awesome too. I do not think Morph is as awesome, but he was cool but I didn't really try to maintain his score anyway so there.

2. I am probably going to hell for voting against Rogue, but I didn't think her story in AoA was as interesting.

The rest undisputed, but Switchback was there like 5 seconds and I don't remember her doing much. And I remember thinking who is this anyway? Oh yeah, the Xcalibur issue where they're in Avalon and everyone's getting fried by electricity was I think my first X-Men comic ever. I bought it at a convenience store during a misguided time when I was a missionary. The artwork looked so cool (i.e. blue Mystique and blue Nightcrawler, and all the electricity!), and I knew I totally loved the X-Men, but it was the first step in letting my inner nerd out to play. Shortly thereafter I sketched a picture of metal wings Archangel which was totally cool. The wings were huge!!!

The fighting started fairly quickly. Perhaps sensing that if he managed to multiply quickly, The Madri was the first to fall. Crushed under the boots of other characters. He (Plural) proved he could not live in a world in which the fittest could survive. The Monets were the next to fall. The beautiful Twins weren't capable of making it in this harsh contest. X-man (Nate Grey) was next cruelly struck down. So powerful, but so untrained, he was not the savior he was proposed to be. Mystique was the next to be taken down. Shapechanging couldn't save her from Apocalypse's hordes. Next a Horseman of Apocalypse fell. Poor Mikhail Rasputin's shattered brain couldn't stand the strain. Jean Grey, one of the most powerful muties in existence, was next on the chopping block. Jean's powers could not save her from the onslaught. Dark Beast's scheming could not save him when the forces of good struck back in retaliation. Sugarman was swiftly blown away. He was deemed unworthy of service to Apocalypse. Dazzler's fabulosity couldn't save her. A force for the side of light was extinguished. Angel was then crucified for not taking a stand. No-one mourned him. Next, tragically, young Charles Lensherr was assasinated in his bed. In a battle with Holocaust, Sabretooth's companion Wild Child's feral brain was splattered on the floor of the Pens. Brute (Sunder) was the next victim. Morlock's in any universe seem to be cannon fodder. Abyss, another vaunted Horseman, was skewered by Weapon X in retaliation for the loss of his beloved. Iceman was next to fall in a heat wave. He never got to tell Paris Du Bennet how he loved him. Gambit died and nobody noticed. Finding a note from Iceman, Paris Du Bennet died next of mortification. Emplate died in a hail of lightning from Storm. He joins his sisters in the grave. Weapon X joined his beloved after failing in a suicide mission to take out Apocalypse. Both Toad and Dead Man Wade were killed off panel. Banshee then fell at the hands of Quietus. LOL! In retaliation for Banshee's slaughter, Vincente formed a cocktail and was drunk by Quietus. He formed solid inside the villian and silenced the enemy. Bishop was tracked down by Apocalypse's hordes and stomped out. Out of time and out of this contest. Know it All, Gen Next's computer didn't know enough and died from a trojan virus. Chamber was next. Even with his cute face, he couldn't escape the Pens. Strong Guy died after the Fashion Police beat him to death. Soaron had his wings clipped. He plummetted to his doom. Sinister was next, when Colossus and Shadowcat took revenge for the loss of their students. Mastermind died without ever having sired his fantastic daughters. wahh! The Bedlam Brothers may have known they'd never get a fair shake in the 616, when Storm and Quicksilver ended their run in this contest. John Proudstar's underground efforts were found out and Damask skinned his soul. Lila Cheney died from a bullet of Novaya Havoc's gun. Skin was incinerated by Holocaust. Damask had turned on Apocalypse and was deemed unfit to be a Pale Rider any longer. The side of good then turned a corner when Magneto took down his nemesis. The leader of evil in an evil world, Apocalypse, was taken down by Magneto. Magneto was right. Holocaust tried to avenge his pops, but Rogue crushed him before he was able to strike down her hubby. Nanny, without a charge any longer, turned herself off. The Robotists won. Storm, with her cute short hair, died when she heard that in the 616 she became a Wakandan Queen. Amazon was all set to for a hot hookup with Karma in Heaven. But the remaining Amazing X-men caught her with her pants down and ended the Southern Belle's big butt. It was getting down to some heavy hitters in the contest and Magneto's power made him a huge target. He'd been wounded too severely in his battle with Apocalypse and he fell before his time. Cyclops was taken down by his brother. Havok blasted his elder brother from behind. Quicksilver, distraught at his father and lover's deaths ran himself to death. The hordes boxed him in and he was crushed by the horde. Sunspot's Brazillian blood and quick temper caused him to make a mistake and Cannonball blasted him to bits. Switchback tried her best to escape, but she stumbled into a situation she couldn't exit. Forge built alot of machines, but his lack of offensive powers doomed him to the slaughterhouse. Then, MONDO died at the hands of savage beasts! :( Cannonball blasted into Colossus and shattered his worn down form. He died without fulfilling his mission. In retribution, Shadowcat phased Cannonball into a wall and left his bloody carcass there. There was no place for Jubilation in the world of Apocalypse, and thus Jubilee had her brains splattered on the wall of the Core. Morph flirted with Rogue one too many times and she absorbed him into her psyche. The good and bad guys alike realized Karma was still in the contest and she was eliminated. Sabretooth’s run on Exiles caught up with him and the fans killed him without mercy. Next, Vincente heroically sacrificed himself for Husk. He died a true hero and a fan favorite. Sunfire was next to draw the ire of the remaining contestants. His flame was finally extinguished. His dying act was to light Nightcrawler’s uber hairsprayed hairdon’t and Kurt Wagner was headless. Shadowcat was the next hero to fall. With most of her charges dead and the love of her life out, she just couldn’t power through. Havok, the last reamaing baddy was crushed by a one-two punch from Rogue. Blink was next killed by the last 30 issues of Exiles. She no longer resembled the character she once was. With just Rogue and Husk remaining, it was Hotness and Experience versus Youth and Spunk. And Spunk prevailed. Rogue was down and Husk is our winner!
