View Full Version : Trades of Backing Stories for 52/Countdown?

Over the past few months, I have become a bigger fan of DC's stories that I had been before. I've been working my way through a lot of the bigger storylines, the Crises, et cetera. I have made it to 52, of which I have the trades.

My question is in regards to the backing stories:
History of the DC Universe (52 issues 2-11)
Secret Origins (52 issues 12-51)
History of the Multiverse (Countdown issues 49-38 I believe)
Villain Origins (Starting at issue 37 of Countdown)

Is there any plans to release these stories in trades? I know they're not in the 52 trades, and Countdown hasn't started releasing trades yet. I've also been told that these stories aren't entirely important, but I still would like to read them. I don't have the money to go buy all the issues of both 52 and Countdown, and would rather buy the stories than download them.

So, any chance of trades of these stories?

I'd love to see trades of these and the DC character origins collected. It's the only reason why I haven't traded my 52 books in. I think the chances are high though.

I hope that DC thinks so. I've talked to a number of people who would like to read these series without buying 104 books to get all of it. They could easily put all of these in one or two trades.

They've been posting the origins for free at dccomics.com, you know. Not all of them, but there's fifty of them posted now (click "heroes and villains" on the banner on the main page). Presumably, they'll eventually post them all. I can't imagine these things would make for a satisfying collection, but I guess some people might like 'em. But then some people would buy a package of Oreo "creme" filling without the cookies.

Oh, those are the same things that were in the issues of 52? I didn't realize that. Thanks!
