By the request of Tre Styles I am starting this poll for the three nominated contenders.

This is an easy choice for me: Mike Carey. He did an excellent job on X-Men revitalizing characters like Rogue and Cable and making Karima and Lady M cool and relevant X-characters. Plus, correct or not, I often thing of him when I consider the main storylines that led to Messiah Complex, so I consider him the key part of the entire X-line.

i voted Yost. He did a fantastic job on both the X-23 mini and on New X-men. Plus he comes to this board on a regular basis, which shows to me that he's dedicated to listening to our blither. Quest for Magik was as good as the X-books got this year. Although both of the guys he's nominated with are fan-freaking-tastic too.

PAD. Always solid, even if I felt the Isolationist story was a bit MEHHHH.

But OMG Nicole hit Layla in the head with a ROCK.
And then Layla was like OMGSHINYPENNY and Nicole was PWOOM!! by a train!

So I voted PAD.

Yost, Carey, and David were all amazing in 2007. I love X-Men and Carey is a fantatic Writer but I think David did better, and Yost did the best.

Craig Kyle?

Brubaker, I was referring to. Well okay, he's fourth place, no doubt about that.

Carey had to deal with crap when he took over X-Men. He made it a worth reading book again, as well as the characters included

Tough choice, I could close my eyes and pick any of the three without regret. In the end I gave it to Carey for his great use of Cable.

I went for Yost, as NXM has gotten consistantly better (to the point of basically being the best Xbook now imo), X-23 rocked and Emporer Vulcan is fanservice at it's best. He's truly a gentleman and a scholar.

Mike Carey, as I think he's a complete writer. I love his plots, his storytelling, his sharp dialogue and his characterization.

Chris Yost and Peter David are amazing as well, and provided a lot of great moments last year.

Peter David.
Madrox is probably the most developed and well-written character I can think of, and it's all PAD. Plus, he made Layla the ultimate in awesome :)

Oddly enough, I voted PAD even though I voted X-Men over X-Factor...

But, X-Men had other things factoring in. PAD on the other hand, is pretty much the driving force behind my love of X-Factor.

He's made Monet a must read character for me.

Mike Carey did best. Great stories, great character use. Plus, he brought back Sunfire!

This is tough for me! New X-Men got my vote for best series, but Yost on his own is rather unimpressive to me. David got my vote last year, but I have been seriously underwhelmed by X-Factor this year. Carey hasn't impressed me since SuperNovas. Hmmm...

Carey was the only one who gave Storm a decent role in Messiah CompleX!! LOL

Yeah, I kinda loved that like a whole lot. LOL

HOWEVER, he only used her that one time. FAIL!!!

But it was a fabulous one time...

OK, you convinced me.

I give the nod to David over Carey, I think he has done more with less (using support characters and turning them to stars) than Carey (who had the flagship x-title). David's blend of humor and character development has produced strong sales (while New Excalibur and Exiles have faltered). I'd like to think that if David were given x-men and Carey given x-factor that X-factor wouldn’t have been as compelling. I love Carey's work in general, the way I interpret his focus is on great plots, while David focuses on character, I guess its preference for me.

Yostums. He nails EVERY character. Which is why X-Force shall rock, even in NXM's absence.

I vote Yost cause he got it like that! And New X-Men has consistantly been my favorite X-Book since The Quest for Magik! I totally hope they're writing the search for Magik's soul this year!

Hmm. I went for PAD even though he can't currently wrap his arcs up well IMO.

Carey, most definitely. X-Factor is great but Carey's X-Men had the most exciting stories and battles, most creative use of powers, and some of the best character moments. I love his Rogue, I loved Rogue's offbeat team and I loved #200 and the whole x-Men vs. marauders battle, esp. Ice-Man and Cannonball's role.
