Not as horrific that I imagined it would be but still doesn't make me want to give Claremont a chance with the book. And why is he so obsessed with the Fantastic Four? They are lame!

I'm guessing the FF dies in that accident, so the Stan Lee Mu goes horribly worng or something.

Nothing special there, average stuff.

I don't think so.

Cat Pryde will be l33t! If her teammates would just leave her alone. THE JERKS!

This is going to be CC figuratively fellating his pet characters for 20 pages a month.

Wrong. On this earth the FF's first flight was in the late 50's.

Like I said on the Marvel Universe board...

New Exiles looks great. Love the 4 pages dedicated to showing the fundamental differences of the reality they'll be visiting. I hope that continues for each new storyarc. Looking good so far, most anticapted book of the week for me. Grummett's art and Claremont's story seem to mesh perfectly together.

How does what work? On that world the FF's first flight occured in the late 50's. Simple as that. They all die, other than Sue who's rescued from the crash by Namor as massive meteor strikes decimate most of the life on the surface. 50+ years pass from that point. Now 2008, the Exiles are going to visit.

This looks tres tres lame. I may pick it up, because I'll need me a Kitty fix, but it doesn't look very good.

Hi all!!

This is my first post here on CBR Forum, although i've been lurking here for sometimes.. :)

I'm very excited for New Exiles. While the other X-books looked 'uncertain' after MC, I think I'm looking forward for CC & Grummet in NEw Exiles.

Although I'm not too fond of the 'sort of FF/sue storm' story in the preview pages, I think we'll find the story to be different from the previous 2 'FF related' arcs.

The book looks great though. I'm loving CC and Tom Grummet pair..:)

Welcome to the boards, metalgorgomon.

Given the solicits, it's clear the story is different. Since the main thrust of the story deals with the Earth after the meteor imapact. Especially since all the FF are dead except for Sue, and 50+ years having passed. ;)

The Fantastic Four is the very foundation for the Marvel Universe. Without them, there's no Marvel Universe.

I'm guessing the FF dies in that accident, so the Stan Lee Mu goes horribly worng or something.

Exactly.

Have to say that I am loving the preview and the art.

Writer, artist and subject matter seem to be working in concert here and I too love that the time has been taken to establish why this reality is the way it is.

I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this.

P.S. Welcome to the boards metalgorgomon - hope you survive the experience!

It sets us up for a big, epic four-issue storyline that’s global

This is exactly the type of story Claremont needs to stop doing altogether. It hasn't worked at all in the past 10 years.

I will say I liked the Grummett Psylocke design though. But my DREAMLADY Sage was left out!

Psylocke looks fantastic in that new costume., even if it's a fusion of Betsy and Britney Spears stage wear.

A shame the same can't be said about the rest of the preview. :(

Hey, it was the 90s... ninja thongs were clearly en vogue! Plus we all know it was just Kwannon's bad taste rubbing off after the mind/face meld. ;)

Wow Psylocke finally got a new costume! It only took how many years??? Geez!

It's nice to see her wear pants, Grummett hit it perfectly. I always imagined Betsy in something like this if she were to ever revert to her British form.

How does THAT work?

It's an alternate reality, the already vague quantum dynamics of comic book time passage is thrown out the window.

we seen worlds that are centuries ahead of us to one stuck in the 80's

Sooo lovin' Psylocke's new design. This is the way I imagine her new look will be. Guess the Cover of Issue #3 really shows Betsy's new costume in New Exiles.

That new Psylocke costume just looks like a lame rip off of Emma's old costume and her new one (minus the cape). I was hoping she'd be more covered up, and why would she be wearing heels? She's supposed to be a ninja not Sage.

meh, At least she has pants now.

I did notice the armband. I like it alot. I like how simple her costume is. But its still sexy, and good for fighting. I hate it when costumes are just rediculous for no reason. Like Surge's costume that Mark Brooks designed. She was wearing a tube top! You cant fight and battle in a tube top. And she had super speed too.

But Psylocke's new costume here is simple, sexy, and good for fast movements. I love it.

okay okay ^^, the costume is definately a step "lateral" to the Bimbokini.
The boots need to go, can't see her fighting in that. The color is great. her hair even better. It might just be the concept sketch that's got me. But ANYTHING is better than that kini. Even if the top is a kini top haha.

Hey, Betsy is showing off her navel. This gets a double thumbs-up from me.

Tummy buttons are sexy ;)
