I'm planning to get one of these for the Wii. But I don't know jack. I'm not a fan of RE so I want to ask which one is good? And why?

I'd go with RE4.

i heard they put a bunch of extras in it.

RE4. The game has won many GotY awards two years ago and rightly so. Everything about it is just about perfect. Since you don't know about the series RE4 is a great jumping on point as it starts a brand new storyline unconnected to the previous games. Umbrella Chronicles pretty much serves to tie up loose ends and fix plotholes left by the previous games.

I'd go with RE4.

i heard they put a bunch of extras in it.

The only thing added were the exclusives that were present in the PS2 version.

Isn't Umbrella Chronicles just a rail shooter? I haven't played it since it first came out for the Gamecube, but I remember RE4 being pretty terrific.

Resident evil 4 easy. The game just plain out owns. A bumch of unlockables, long hours of gameplay, and the dude you play as is too badass for words. That game easy.

RE4 obviously!

RE:UC is just a glorified arcade light-gun shooter.

I own both, and RE4 is the definite favorite here. Umbrella Chronicles is a light-gun game with lots of fanservice. Nothing wrong with that(I rather like the game myself), but RE4 is the better game by far.

If you haven't played RE4 yet, then you need to get it and play through it now. Best RE game to date. Capcom was finally able to balance its gameplay ideas with great control.

What is it you don't like about the RE series?

RE4 is the better game, easily. A lot of people don't like the controls in RE, but they've been revamped in 4 and feel a lot more inuitive, yet still unique.

RE: UC isn't like the other RE games at all. It's basically a rail shooter with a few small twists. It's an enjoyable enough game with a buddy, but just not as good.

The main thing that plagues so many mediocre and "good but not great" games: needlessly bad control.

What? Re4 drives like a tank.

Um, reread my original post. I said that RE4 had great control, AS OPPOSED to the rest of the series.

What is it you don't like about the RE series?

Is not that I don't like it. I wasn't interested in RE. But decided now to play it. I have RE4. I'll buy the other one later. RE4 is really good so far. It took me a while to get used to the Wii controls for it but it's all good now.

In survival horror games, bad controls are a feature. It's the equivalent of being the clumsy blonde girl in high heels who's running from zombies. RE4 simply managed to find the right balance of awkwardness and fairness.

Is the RE4 PC version as good as the ones for the consoles??

Is the RE4 PC version as good as the ones for the consoles??

Not really. It's as good as the PS2 version, but fails as a computer game. The textures look poor on a higher resolution monitor and you can't use the mouse and the keyboard controls kind of suck. I'm told it plays fine with a gamepad controller though.
