I am of the mind that he's actually a high up skrull right now. having him escape from hell off panel with a 1 page explaination? Come on now... I think that the Arc in MA will reveal him for the Skrully Skrull that he is.

I think Doom as a skrull would be thoroughly ridiculous. Doom and Namor together as a flank of the Skrull resistance could be fun though. It is interesting to me anytime that Doom can force the heroes to swallow their pride and reluctantly admit that they need him. It enhances his prestige. Hmmm, imagine Doom forcing them into giving him a seat at the next Illuminati gathering.

The only way Skrull-Doom works, I think, is with real Doom crushing him like an eggshell.

We never actually saw Doom escaping from hell. We saw Doom telling the FF how he escaped from hell. Big difference. All we have is Doom's word for it.

Personally, I too think he's a skrull. Doom would never be so stupid as to accidently drop symbiotes on NYC.

...and I'm hoping that when the real Doom comes back, he's wearing the leather. Wearing the flayed skin of your beloved is just so utterly badass. Don't retcon Mark Waid's run, Marvel!!!!

it will do nothing for his reputation as a kinder gentler doom. and it might help sway public opinion Tony's way when he invades Latveria.

OMG that's what i was going to post. I think the dr.doom that they are going after is a skrull and the dr.doom that just showed up in thor is the real one.

I really hope that Doom was replaced with a Skrull while he was gone, but captured it upon his return...I hope that while the super heroes were having CW and WWH Doom was torturing information from his doppelganger, making preparations for the invasion

We just had a future Doom appear in FF over the last two months. Another alternate version appearing for this? That's not necessary. This needs to be the real Doom. After all, the real item standing over Sentry for the Feb issue just feels correct.
