I can't really understand paying a price (more than the figure itself) for an accessory. Plus, how many versions of HB with a removable coat did Mezco release, both cloth and vinyl? I would buy one, but maybe for 5 bucks. No offense, just my thoughts on the matter.

Well, that's super annoying. I want it but I don't want to jump through hoops for it.

Normally I'd agree but I got my Animated HB for free with the DVD. The DVD also only cost me 15 bucks so I figure I'll allow myself to splurge.

Good point there! I managed to get my hands on that as well. I have to buy the horned variant and the smirking variant, as well as Abe. THEN maybe I will go after the coat. Maybe. :)
Great coat... I splurged... Yup.... And the dude with it... looks good on Big Red.:D
i know this was posted before ,but this seems to be a better bargin

What does it normally go for? That seems expensive for just a coat but the links you provided aren't any cheaper
Is this the going price?

Did that price go up? $39.00 to $69.00  I was looking to order another for a friend. Mine was only $39.00. Holy Crapola.

I found one of the hellboy animated coats, but not the figures at my comic shop. It turns out someone wanted only the figures I guess, which sucks a little. either way, I can let the coat go to someone who really wants it in a trade or something.

They're getting gouge-happy out there.
When it gets high enough to cover a house payment I'll gladly sell the one I have! Love the Abe figure, they really captured the look.

I wasn't sure how I felt about the HB Animated figures at first. I liked what Gentle Giant did with The Simpsons Bust-Ups enough to know that I'd want to get the Sword of Storms Bust-Ups, and I did, getting the entire set with all the variants.
With any toy, pictures can give you an idea, but I like to see the actual product before buying if possible. The figure bundled with the Blood & Iron DVD grew on me pretty quickly - he's now sandwiched between the Gotham by Gaslight Batman and Moon Knight with the Khonshu statute because collecting toys definitely takes up a lot of room and sometimes you just have to fill space - but I have to say that I am pretty turned off to the line right now what with the "snarling" variant (1 to a case) and even worse this whole trenchcoat (1 to a case) situation. (The GG movie versions really look horrid to me, but I'll wait until I see them in person before making a final decision.) Yes, I have all the Mezco releases (movie and comic lines, yes, all of them, even the "variants"), but I am getting tired of companies merely doing a different head sculpt to create a "variant". I wish this stupid trend would disappear from the industry. (I've collected other Mezco lines, like South Park and Family Guy, but I just got 1 of a figure without any regard for any sort of lame variant - I'm just sick of this crap.)

Got my set of GG figures in yesterday. Pretty good. There's no way they will ever stand on their own tho. HB's legs are TINY. Abes are better, but his knee joints are so loose that there's no way he will ever stand by himself. Stands are included, with clear rods that plug into Abe and HB's nether regions.
Movie HB is small. Aboot 6" scale, which is Marvel Legends style. This one is super articulated, as even HB's tail is ball jointed!!! Sculpt is pretty good, but he has a weird look on his face. All 3 figures have interchangeable hands, and Abe has 2 different heads. Also a head from a mummy. (I think it's from Sword of Storms where he and Liz are fighting mummies in the beginning)
The coat on animated HB looks cool.

So whatever happened to the Gentile Giants bust ups for Blood and Iron?
I saw the prototypes at Comic Con.... the one with bloody Erzabet getting out of the tub was a must have...
I gotta assume it's not going ahead although I wasn't told officially.
But then why would they unless they wanted to hurt my feelings.
I'm so fragile.
vitual hug and pat on the back Tad..i saw those bust -ups also and still want them:D
Blood and Iron bust ups, Me too, those would be cool to go with my others.:mad:got my animated goodies yesterday. He's kool with his coat

That's kind of sad that Gentle Giant probably won't be producing Bust Ups for Blood & Iron, although in all fairness the Sword of Storms ones just didn't sell that well (and I did pre-order of a complete set, scrounging to get the 3 variants, and later buying an entire new case of them off of eBay (at $1 per figure - at lot of comics dealers I know were just dumping the things well below cost)) despite being very well done IMHO. People over to my humble abode tend to zero right in on them and go have a look. As for Blood & Iron itself, I bought 3 copies of the DVD bundled with the figure, one for myself, two as presents, and people seem to be buying the newly released figures, so perhaps the apparent interest might give Gentle Giant pause to rethink the Blood & Iron Bust Ups. Maybe I'll give them a call; it's been awhile since I gently pestered their customer service. ;)

Does anybody else that went to SDCC last year remember seeing B&I bustups at the GG booth? I swear I remember seeing a really cool Erzsebet figure and of course, I didn't take a pic.

Don't remember seeing an Erzsebet figure at their booth. Was it with the other HB figures?

I think so. It was her in a bathtub covered in blood. It wasn't very large, but still a cool figure.
That figure was creepy, but looked cool!!!;)

Those Blood & Iron Bust Ups are awesome!
Hopefully interest in Hellboy II will spill over to other Hellboy products.

Oh, you are kidding me! I spend most of last year hoping in vain for any B&I Bust-Ups, quietly dreaming they might do Erzebet perhaps in her full "PG" uniform... and I never would have even dreamt they might make something as ideal as a Bathtub Erzebet... and now I find out they had the prototype all ready and it ain't happening?!?
CRAP!
Okay. The stores in my neighborhood sold out of the B&I DVD's, Before I even got there, and we don't get bust ups! Sorry guys, I don't want to cause greif, but this really gets me.:( . I want soooo much to add those to my collection. Doesn't it matter what those fans that really enjoyed them think?.With so many manufatures out there, I would at least think that someone would do it. I just wanted to speak my piece.

Speaking of which, how many vendors do you think will have movie tie in exclusives this year for HB2? Sideshow, Mezco, Gentle Giant...should be fun!
