Top 50 Manga

I recently came across a story online where the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs ranked the top 50 manga. Here is a link http://www.japanprobe.com/?p=1933

Anyway being a fan of Deathnote, and Berserk I kind of agree with the list, but I was wondering what everyone else thinks is the best manga?

It seems to be a mix of "great" manga and culturally significant/popular manga (such as DRAGONBALL being at number 3). There are some notable exceptions for me, but overall, I think it touches a nice portion of the "classic" bases. But it's not too terribly similar to what I think my version of the list would look like, if I ever bothered to write one.

And my personal "best" manga is YOKOHAMA KAIDASHI KIKOU.

Even though I'm glad to see the underrated "Parasyte" high on the list, this thing reads more like an effort to be trendy rather than compile an honest top 50 manga selections. I'd say "Blade of the Immortal" is one awesome read the agency missed.

If you like Parasyte, check out Historie. I think its made by the same guy-the drawing looks exactly the same.

But I think its even better imo.

Great to see Black Jack, Mushishi and Akira in there. Not so sure bout' the rest, it does seem like it's keeping in the trendy titles...

glad naruto or bleach didnt make it. Only thing that makes bleach and naruto popular are little 15 year old kids who think guys with big swords and spikey hair are cool. All of my favorite animes made it though. One piece, DB, YYH, HxH.
