I'd say that David Gilmour barely counts as a frontman.

The answer to 1. is Lennon & McCartney. The 2 men wrote the soundtrack that is life . No other force on the planet can do what those 2 could as song writers. I worship AXL but those 2 get that.

Fixed. ....

Broken is more like it. besides attacking his fans and writing metal songs, what has he done exactly?

Farrell not only has amazing stage presence but he wrote songs for Jane's Addiction, then completely changed gears writing for Porno for Pyros, then became a successful DJ, and compiled his own solo record and recently established a new band Wedding Party, that sounds different from anything he has done before.

I am sure there are tons of metal singers who sing like Hetfield, is there anyone you have ever heard who sings like Farrell?

3. Hard to say since I don't have experience with some of them live. But I'd probably say Freddie Mercury here as well.

is there anyone you have ever heard who sings like Farrell? Most have had good enough sense not to try to. Why on Earth anyone would want to is beyond me.

Of those listed, Plant is my favorite, but I think Mercury would have to take it. Well, maybe Plant's early Zep stuff for the live one, but that's a close one.
