CBR: A History
CBR started out in September of 1995 as a single links page. It grew to have some reviews written by Jonah Weiland himself (the site owner), some cover scans, and a larger collection of links. In the summer of 1996 he launched the Kingdom Come site with a single message board and it was a huge hit! At its height it was averaging 2000 visitors a day, and that was for a lot for a lil' ol' fan site.

At the end of that summer he decided to capture the community that had erupted there by redesigning CBR and adding message boards. This became known as the Yellow/Orange CBR, the forerunner of the CBR you now frequent today. It's expanded since to include many other facets of the comic industry, such as columns and features, along with the very latest in comic news, but the heart of CBR is still its message board denizens.

The Corries
Near the end of each year, the members of the CBR forums come together and vote on their favorite people, things, and comics. The winners are awarded The Corrie which is named after the character Jim Corrigan, who was the Golden/Silver age human host for DC's Spectre.
