View Full Version : Whom should Doom settle down with?

Sometimes it can get lonely in Doom's Latveria castle, and with accomplishing most of his life goals (freeing his mother, temporary gaining god-like power, and taking over a planet) one would think it would be time to find a mate and settle down. So of the people in Victor Von Doom's life: whom should he settle down with?

Valeria: most logical choice, knew before he became "Mr. World Domination"

Sue Storm: what better way to stick to Reed than to stick...it…to…ummm

Storm: Maybe it's all in my imagination, but there been some sexual tension between the two for years (you can deny it all you want T'Challa) I'd soooo love for this to happen, you think Emma and Scott is controversial? Please...

Namor: Friends...with benefits?

Reed Richards: His obsession with Reed rivals that of lover, why not make it official?

I voted Storm, for reasons that are unknown to me.

Valeria . . . has the fact that he killed her and used her skin for magic armor been retconned?

Not to my knowledge, but I'd figure leaving her out wouldn't be right, whether it was possible or not. I guess think of it in general terms and not so much current events.

1. Has he ever had a liaison with Madame Masque? They would seem a formidable couple.

2. Gwen Stacy, she could trade up for someone with a bit more flair, wealth, and panache than Norman Osborne. I don't know if she's alive or not, but Doom has a time machine and perhaps a secret yearning for 60s-style go-go boots and mini-skirts. :)

3. Aunt May...she dated Doc Ock and the Vulture, didn't she?

I voted for Namor. Because that's clearly who Doom really, secretly wants. ;)

Alternative love interests (since Namor's loves tend to die, and Doom's died enough times already):

1. Silver Sable. Ruler of Symkaria, nation bordering Latveria. Plus: she fine, yo.

2. Misty Knight. If any woman could fix whatever the hell's wrong with Doctor Doom, it'd be Misty.

3. Gwen Stacy clone. Go-go boots! Yum! Plus: moar Spidey angst!

4. Moonstone. DOOM would shag Songbird, except that DOOM does not take Zemo's sloppy seconds. That leaves out Fixer, too.

5. Nocturne. Sooner or later, Doom ends up related to Magneto, just like everyone else in the MU.

6. Rachel Grey. Ditto, except substitute "Summers family" for "Magneto".

You'd think he'd engineer his own clone with a double X-chromosome, so it'd be female, based off his ego.

Hell, he might even love himself enough to leave it X-Y.

Or clone a daughter, Doometta, who will face off against the Young Avengers in this years big Dr. Doom arc!!1

Besides the obvious fact that he'd take Sue to ruin Reed, don't be surprised if he's banging the new Loki by this time next year.

Now, getting the new iteration of the god of mischief preggers is something I could see someone with Dooms ego doing.

It'd be hawtt.

Doom doesn't like competition. He just wants someone that can meet his 'standards', although everyone does of course fall short.

Now if he hit up Sue and Reed suddenly received a video tape in the mail a few days later, that's a story I could get behind.

Morga LeFey, Enchantress, or Loki. it's common knowledge that he held his mother in high esteem. so whomever he chooses will have to be similar to her.

Doctor Doom is too much of an ego-maniac to love anyone else but himself.

No one. Marriage requires you to consider the other partner's needs and desires as equally or more important than your own. Doom is simply incapable of that.

At this point, I'm willing to believe that Doom's just as much of a pale, friendless virgin as most of the people I see at my local comic shop.

Valeria because its the only one that makes sense.

It's already been mentioned on the board that the Doom that made some kind of comment that everyone seems to have implied as love or interest toward Storm was by a Doom Bot. (isn't it always?) Sue doesn't work because that would be Richards sloppy seconds, this isn't the movies. I don't think Victor is gay so Namor and Reed are out. It could be a entirely new character all together but that would require marvel to be original and age the character because we all know being married is bad.

DMike, Doom's facial scarring is a lot worse though. Acne is nothing compared to still hot steel.

I can totally imagine him playing World Of Warcraft and buying up stuff though.

I love me some Doom, but it's so obvious that he fell in love with Reed the moment he felt the sting of his superior intellect. Doom contrary to what most believe would be the "Bitch" in that relationship.

In an ideal universe, sad to say, Doom would be with the one woman who has obsessed him his entire life - his mother.

I'd vote for the evil version of Lady Dorma from his Planet Doom days, but I think she's dead now too. But they did have the hots for each other, so much so that she attacked Sue out of jealousy.

Uuhhh.......... what happened to the Tony Stark option.
Stark.............. you know, sissyfied version of Doom, cries a lot lately, hobbies include turning into killer female robot, destoying the freedom of the american people, being possesed once or twice every couple of months, and pissing off every hero from Alaska to Asgard and back again.

Strangely enough, an early storyline in the Stan Lee / Romita Sr daily comic strip involved Doom taking a fancy to her and having her fly out to Latveria for a bogus modeling assignment IIRC.

I always thought Doom had a lobotomy, but I like your intepretation better.

From the picture and the dialogue it does appear to be a lobotomy.

Kids can easily relate to Dr. Doom. I think we all, as teens, went though a period where where horrible mutilated burnt our bodies and ended up wearing the skin of a loved one as armor.

Right?

I answered Sue in the poll but I honestly don't know why I did. It was just an impulse at the time, that when I think about I disagree with. I wouldn't want doom to settle down now, or really ever, but in the "future" of the marvel universe i would like it if he did.

Personally, i think if he ever did settle down, there are only 2 girls that make sense. One is Valeria. The other one is that lovely girl from Spider-Man 2099 that Doom got involved in in 2099 World of Tomorrow, whose name I have sadly forgotten.

I loved that bit in The Last Avengers Story where the physically incapacitated Reed and the senile Doom are living together in a rest home playing checkers all day. It just seemed to fitting somehow.

I loved that scene. I'm not sure what it was, but that ending seems right. I honestly think that deep down Doom doesn't want to kill Reed, because Reed's death would render him alone. There is no other human who can comprehend what he sees. In an ideal future, Doom would finally get beyond his own ego and more or less retire, likely becoming close friends with Reed n the process.
