Red Skull deserves the first place.
He has been surprisingly smart villian. His moves against Cap , i wish more villains specially the so called super villains was that clever about their way taking out their enemies.
Warning ... cheap shot coming.
Where's Stark on that list?

Heh, I actually half-expected to see him on that list. :D

Me too. Overall it's a pretty comprehensive list, although I have a hard time wrapping my brain around Miek being on it. Yeah, he set WWH in motion by setting the ship's drive to detonate, but during the whole Planet Hulk run I never could take the character seriously.

Ugh, Vulcan?
And I would totally bump Mr. Fear up a few. Red Skull was the clear #1, good call there.

Little surprised Mephisto didn't make the list, but I guess Marvel doesn't want to emphasize that Spidey lost to a villain.

Funny, seems to me that Mr. Sinister was placed higher. And he being the leader of the Marauders...
That and, apart from the Phalanx, and even that could be debatable, everyone on the list is a single character. Individuals, not teams. Although, like I said, sharing a hive mind, the Phalanx could be considered an individual.

More to the point, bringing him up is a little too spoileriffic for something that happened this week.
Do you think Doom is pissed he wasn't granted permanent top villain status?
Although, come to think of it, between Conquest and Mighty Avengers, Ultron has killed more sentients this year than anyone.

My thoughts exactly

Vulcan? Really? Meh... But #1 is definitively not up to debate, no one came close to be as successful.

I am devastated that Rouge-Mort did not make this list!

I dont even think wasting Cap in the infernally clever way he did was the most impressing thing about Red Skull.
I was more impressed with how he controlled things from the shadows.
He didnt gave Cap and co chance to find him and kick his ass.

If there was any justice he would be.

Nightcrawler...a ONE WAY ticket to the infirmary?! Could the rumours of his death be true?!
I agree with the choices, and Skull in particular obviously deserves the top spot.
That said, it's been a weak year for villains in general. The last 3 major marvel events have had the villains sitting on the sidelines like spectators. They've been phoning it in for some time.
Villains (outside a few exceptions like Skull) really need to step up in 2008. Doom and Mandarin are at least starting to get some action in.

Dr Doom when he learns that he's not in the list:
CURSE RICHARDS!!!!
It's good that Skull really shines lately.

True, but he did both those things in 2006. ;)

Hmmm... Take Vulcan off the list, move the Hood back a few notchs, and add the Skrulls on that.

I liked the list. A lot of the top villains seem to be X-Characters, which I think is great. Vive le X-Villains!

Maybe next year. It's too early to include the Skrulls. As far as we know, all they've really done in impersonate Elektra and Blackbolt. Beyond that, we really don't know exactly what they were behind, and what we're just randomly blaming on them.
