So i'm pretty psyched about the upcoming Force Unleashed game. I was checking around Wookiepedia about how they can't release the characters name yet.
So lets bgin with the guessing. My first thought is that he's going to be Ferus Olin from the Last of the Jedi books.
Any one else have any ideas

I'm not a fan of the secret apprentice BS. Didn't Palpitine already have one (mara)? I mean, come on, why not just let us play Vader.
This is all the advertisement a game like that needs
*Play Vader, Exterminate Jedi
That's best seller of the year based on that alone.

It could be your name. Like the KOTOR series.

Does it really matter what his name is?
I mean, really. It's a game about using the force and hunting down Jedi, and Vader is involved!
I just hope they take their time with this one and don't rush it to market half-finished.

That would be a game I'd be guarantied to buy the day it came out. I'll wait awhile to play the apprentice.

To answer Hoffmandu: According to the books/games/comics, there were several "Dark Jedi" (Although not Sith) under the Emperor and Vader's command. There were also Dark Jedi during the Clone Wars such as Asajj Ventress, the pale, bald woman from the Clone Wars cartoons. One presumes the spoken plan between Palpatine and Vader was to turn Luke into a Dark Jedi as well, although secretly they both wanted him to be their own Sith apprentice.
It's kind of a loophole around the "There can be only two Sith" thing....
There's of course some more info at the Star Wars wiki:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dark_Jedi
As for the game itself, I'm looking forward to it, as it's the first SW game to truely be developed for current systems (I mean, there are the two Lego games for 360 and Ps3, but that's about it so far).
Unfortunately, although there are some gems, like the aforementioned Lego games, the Jedi Knight and X-wing/Tie fighter simulators and IMO the Battlefront series, there have been plenty of bad Star Wars games, even those that have been as hyped and developed as long as Force Unleashed.
In typical Lucasfilm fashion, they're also a ton of tie-in stuff for Force Unleashed-comics, novels, action figures etc.--they're doing what they did for Shadows of the Empire and Clone Wars, providing a ton of merchandise even though there's no movie out.

I haven't personally played KOTOR 2, but from what I have heard, yes, like KOTOR 2.
I just hate it in general when any game (SW or not) gets rushed to market when it is still all buggy and missing content.

QFT.
But Lucas probably wants people to remember that Anakin was a good guy overall. Ignoring the millions he has killed or caused the death of.

Apparentally some of the leaked merchandise has revealed the character's name, although I'm not sure where to find it.

I've heard rumors that Vader will actually be playable as an unlockeable skin after you finish the game the first time.
No proof on that, I just heard it in the magazine where I first heard of the game.

Apparentally like KOTOR and the Jedi Knight games, I think there's also multiple paths you can choose in the game, as well, if the merchandise is any indication...

Not that I would want to play these ladies but story wise it'd blow my mind if it was Vergere or Lumiya,

During the time of "Force Unleashed" Vergere's with the Yuzzhan Vong and Lumiya doesn't really become Lumiya until after the OT era.
I wouldn't totally rule out Mara Jade making an appearence, however.
I'm kind of curious about when this game takes place. Of course it's between the PT and the OT, but the technology-the Stormtroopers, Walkers etc. is distinctly OT.

The novel Allegiance rules out any apprenctice/master apperance between Mara and Vader.

I meant in her capacity as the Emperor's hand. Mara Jade also has a habit of popping up in these games.

Given the Lucasarts MO and timeframe, I'd not be surprised in the least if we see younger versions of Mara Jade and Boba Fett in the game.
Fett especially...he's practically mandatory for any game that takes place in a time period where he's alive. :p :)
I remember the days when beating him in Dark Forces actually felt like an accomplishment....

In addition to Shaak Ti, who is confirmed, There's also some rumors that we'll see EU characters Quinlan Vos and Asajj Ventress. Although the Clone Wars cartoon seems to imply that she died, she had a few other confrontations with Obi-Wan, Anakin and other Jedi according to the comics and novels; the comic series 'obsession' had her presumed dead (but actually in a Sith trance) and on the last page comandeering the ship she was on....
Quinlan likewise appeared to have been killed during Order 66 but "Republic" revealed he did in fact survive.
