I am a hardcore marvel zombie from the 70's & can't wait to read Universe X with all of its obscure references!

Universe X & then Paradise X are on my "MUST BUY RIGHT NOW" agenda! One of my comic buds mentions that he found Paradise X so dense, it was unreadable. He stopped 1/2 way through it. I will have to read it for myself & see. He is more of a hardcore DC guy, so that might be it.

I see that they also have a nice lithograph of the 12 covers from Earth X & a music CD. I think I am going to get both off ebay! Than I can work on getting some of those nifty busts. I already have Deathlok & Thor. I am a BIG comic statue geek too! :)

Well personally I think the Universe X Spidey special was the best story they did in the whole series...so yes it gets better in some ways :p

I have read Earth X, but never all of the series. Thats why I got it from my LCS last Friday. I am very impressed. Going for Universe X tonight.

As a fan of past Marvel continuity you will probably continue to love the rest of this trilogy. It is an incredibly dense read but, if you're a Marvel Zombie it will just be a great treat for you! I envy the upcoming experience you have with reading it for the first time. Enjoy!

Earth-X was great and Universe-X was really good, but not as great (although they did have more stuff going on and more characters), Paradise X they just really seemed to lose focus though.

Does anybody know if there was another one planned? The way Paradise X ends seesm to me that another series was going to start, but never did.

I think that was more because the ending was cut down a lot and changed. Wiki says there was supposed to be a series set before Earth X itself, but thats it.

I'm still hoping for a crossover with Earth X, I mean it's the only universe crossover that actually makes sense :p

Joey Q and his cronies did everything they could to kill E/U/P X when they took over. That and Spider-Girl were hold overs from the Bill Harris era and didn't fit into Joe Q's editorial views of Marvel as a whole.

So they managed to run Paradise X into the ground (to the point that the final issue, which was intended to be doublesized was forced to be single sized) with no marketing. Hell, before Paradise X was over a lot of it's Grand Unification theory continuity was being obviously contradicated in the regular MU.

So no. it's not likely we'll ever see a new X series.

HOWEVER, Marvel did just solicit an all new Earth X TP in the newest Previews Catalog, the Earth X Companion. Which appears to be a 200 page collection of sketches, commentary, maybe all those text pieces UX and PX were supposed to have but didn't (like at the end of every EX issue. Unless those all appeared in the UX and PX trades, which I've never read as I have the single issues.) as well as Earth X 1/2 and other EX related comics that have never been reprinted, like online Machine Man prequel.
So apparently Earth X still has some long term value for Marvel to milk a bit, so maybe if we close our eyes and wish hard enough, Jim Krueger will come back and give us some new Earth X someday.

I loved the series, a shame what happened to Paradise X. Essentially, marketing or whoever cancels comics assumed that Paradise X #X was just a one shot or something (it's been a while) and decided to cancel it and end the series with #12. Of course that screwed things up so Krueger was able to convince them to have #X but they would only allow a single sized issues. There was supposed to be a series that jumped in the timeline (including before Earth X) but Krueger go busy with things (included Justice) and while he talks about wanting to continue I kind of doubt it'll happen (at least not any time soon).

Frankly, I found Universe X a chore and didn't even bother with Paradise X.

"Everything's the Celestials." Yeah, thanks for sucking the fun out of it, guys.

The "Grand Unification Theory" of the Marvel Universe was the most brilliant thing EVER. It fit together so well.

And the best part was? Krueger didn't have to make much up, all the pieces were pretty much there to begin with. Jim just ran with it.

Just read EARTH X trade! W@W! Does it get any better than this?Unfortunately, no. Earth X, I think, was the best part of the trilogy. Universe X was good too, but not quite up there, and Paradise X's ending just left me disappointed. I mean, if you like all the old school references and B-Listers abound, I'd recommend it. It's a good, dense read, but thanks to editorial changes and what not, it just didn't end right and that's what still gets me, even after all this time. But hey, like I said, if you're really into the premise of the series, you can't go wrong with it.

Earth X is by far one of my favourite comic book stories ever. I really, really wished it was self-contained and didn't leave off on the end note that it did with the coming of Captain Marvel and Universe X.

I am loving the obscure characters that pop in. Like Woodgod & Muldoon!

its a classic right there!!! I mean, WOODGOD!!!!

Also the characters from Jack Kirbys run on CAP in the 70s.
