:) Hello, this is my first posting. Please forgive me but I am not that familiar with the Marvel Universe being a collector of DC comics.

I have a friend who is trying to find an issue of a title of which he has only part one of a two part special edition Marvel Comics release. All he remembers of the story line is that it involved all or nearly all the characters in the Marvel Universe, that the story is told from the point of view of a news reporter, that it was probably from the mid-90's and that the cover was made of some kind of hard plastic.

We have been trying to track it down on various web-based data bases, search engines and search options for the last three hours without any luck. Anybody have any ideas? I told him that there are many Marvel fans that know much more of the Marvel Universe then I do and I found this forum during our searches.

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.:)

You're looking for Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross's seminal series, Marvels. It was actually four issues, not two. Your best bet is to get him the trade collection. In fact, there's a new hardcover edition coming out next month: http://www.amazon.com/Marvels-Marvel-Premiere-Classic-Busiek/dp/0785127844/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1199025849&sr=8-1

No, that's not it, but very close. With your information we were able to track it down. It was a two issue limited series written by Warren Ellis with painted artwork by Cliff & Terese Nielsen. The main character was Phil Sheldon, who was also the central character of the Marvels series by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross that you suggested. (See link below.)

I want to thank you very much for your help, it would have taken us much longer without it.:)

I also want to thank all the fans of the Marvel Universe who, although I am highly predjudiced and biased in favor of the DC Universe versus the Marvel Universe, I know are as passionate and knowledable about their titles and storylines as I am about mine. Deep Bow.:)
