Hi,

Sometimes I get ideas for writing simple little stories (or just little snippets of getting in the hero's head) when I've run out of comics to read, lol. So far I've only written from Superman/Clark's point of view. I'm reeeeally hesitant and nervous about posting my stuff on here because it's how *I* see the character and may not be at all how everyone else sees him. I just do it for fun, that's all. So, I'll just post one for now: Supes' thoughts on Batman. Comments/reviews welcome of course. :)

________________

Bruce Wayne. To so many people all around the world that name is associated with many different things. Money. Power. Designer tuxedos. Cocktail in the hand and a girl on each arm. Promiscuity, tendency to drink too much… a playboy.

As for Batman… he’s dark. Scary. Untrustworthy. Unpredictable. Appears and disappears like a ghost. To some, he’s perceived as a criminal with no respect for the law. To others, nothing but an urban legend.

And to the few who have worked with the Bat… brave and sharp as a tack… but cold, cynical, untactful, antisocial, bossy… and though it remains unspoken by the ones who have worked with him longest, pretty darn creepy.

Then there’s his family. No know knows Batman… Bruce… like his family does.

I’ll be the first to admit that I cheated. Using my X-ray vision to look under his cowl wasn’t fair. It was the first time I’d come into such direct contact with another superhero and I didn’t even realize I looked until I blurted out his name in surprise. I would never do it again to anyone else, but I know as well as Bruce that he wouldn’t have shown me otherwise… and things wouldn’t be the same now.

Myself and everyone else in the League… we are different. Our powers make it so that we just don’t quite fit into society. But Bruce is even different from the rest of us. He doesn’t always fit in with the League because he just thinks differently, and he doesn’t fit into society like the rest of us either despite his lack of superpowers. And yet, when I’m working alongside him, fighting for the same cause, the same people we love and each call our own… I find myself relying on him, trusting him to be just as strong as I am. And he hasn’t let me down, ever. He never will. Bruce may not have superhuman speed, the strength of a god, or the power of magic at his bidding, but his will… ignoring limitations and confronting anything that dares stand in his way… makes him a true superhero, the best of the best, whom I respect deeply. And love, as the best friend I’ve ever had… as a brother.

For what it's worth I like it. I like it a lot.
