Question for Dan Slott or those in-the-know about Camp Hammond

as of issue #8, new recruits are being bused out to Camp Hammond for basic training. my question is, "Where are all of these new recruits while the current crop are being trained?" i can imagine that there would be limited room to house these folks. so does a hero just register and go about their business until the bus shows up outside of their house? is there another training facility elsewhere; that we just haven't seen yet? i would love to know?

I can't speak for Camp Hammond but if it's anything like military training (which it appears to be), then new recruits arrive on specific days. After you've signed your contract, you're given a date to be at the recruiter's office with your things, they fly all the recruits in from that period at once, and after a week or so of getting your things, you're bussed into the actual training facility.

Given that we've seen them assigned their uniforms at Camp Hammond, and that the base doesn't seem to have anything OTHER than the metahuman training facility, one can assume that they go straight from the airport to the camp and file their paperwork there.

that makes a lot of sense. thanks. i was also thrown off because (last issue of Irredeemable Ant-Man) Stark basically tells Eric that he's got a few hours to prepare before heading off to Camp Hammond with Pym. of course, that doesn't jive with Pym greeting the bus, either. i guess i'll just wait and see what happens. it might be explained in issue # 8.
