Does anyone know if Alan Scott's body still contains the Starheart? In the new JSA series it appears that he is using a ring again. Also, is he still immortal because he appears to have aged some more since his appearance in Checkmate.

That's kind of a tricky question. As far as anyone knows he's still basically made of the Starheart's energy and not really biologically human anymore, but the Starheart itself is outside his body. He mentioned in the Thanksgiving JSA issue after Princes of Darkness that he was still the same as before and that the ring was just a symbol, and that his subconscious must have shaped the Starheart into a ring shape so he could feel more human, hence why he no longer randomly manifests green flame around himself like he used to.
As far as aging goes, I think at this point he's pretty much willing himself to look however he wants nowadays, such as transforming his regular clothes into his uniform. I think it was implied that he could have willed himself to regrow his missing eye if he ever actually tried to, but didn't because it was a reminder of Jade's death. Or something like that, I don't remember the end story of that volume all too well.
