Uuuuuuuuh.. I believe you mean, Paprika by Satoshi Kon. It's an amazing film.
As for the ending, well, it's certainly open to interpretation, but I do belive the dream world left destruction in our world.

The movie was quite excellent and I greatly enjoyed it. Animation was top notch and the story kept me involved and into the movie the entire time. Much like all of Satoshi Kon's movies. It's actually probably one of favorite anime movies I've seen.

Yeah, they were cleaning up and rebuilding in the last scene, but whether or not it was in the real world or in the dream world with just actions reflected in the real world was left in the air

Watched this last night. Some incredible visual ideas here, a few inspired by Akira, though. Every once in a while the CGI was extremely lame. Superb and odd soundtrack. It's a very good movie, but seems more inclined to weird you out than tell a solid story. Better than Millenium Actress, to be sure, but not on par with Perfect Blue.

I heard it mentioned that the two guys in the bar were voiced by the author of the original novel and either the scriptwriter or Kon himself. Perfect people to do the "all-knowing back-up" characters, don't you think?
I enjoy the movie, though my first viewing was a little flawed. I was at AWA, and a pair behind me kept trying to work their way through what was going on onscreen, moment by moment, scene by scene. Out loud. C'mon, people, at least wait until afterwards.
