Where did Lucifer come from?

I thought satan was retconned into being mephisto. ever since the beginning of this ghost rider series i was wondering where did this lucifer come from. any body know? :confused:

Who it was has been retconned back and forth so many times... at one point it was Satannish. Not Satan, just Satan-ish.

Like StoneGold said, it's been bandied about quite a bit. The whole Satan/Satannish-"son"-of-Dormammu thing from the lamentable Englehart Hellcat series has, I believe, been retconned out as of the recent Hellstorm Max series that came out last year (it was either there or somewhere previous that Daimon revealed he lied to Patsy about the whole thing to help her move on), so I believe the current Satan is once again the original Satan from those Daimon Hellstorm/Son of Satan books (ie, his own entity).

Everything else was all just lies.

ok, in other words nobody knows why after satan was retconned into being mephisto and mephisto being the one who made the deal for ghost riders soul, that it was changed back to satan/lucifer.

Same reason Ghost Rider is now an angel: because the new writer deemed it so.
