Countdown Arena #3 Finally it was kinda good.

ok im not liking the fights, but the side story is good. I liked the whole getting 52 monitors thing. and i like how there is a dc/marvel world. Were there is a atom hulk. did anyone else see it was better?

How did they find out that Monarch is Atom?? Weren't they mentioning at the beginning that the GL tried to see his face because knowing his identity could lead to a weakness? Then suddenly they know he's Atom?

I believe everyone can see the fights with some kind of TV that Monarch instaled there for everyone to watch. I believe someone with high reflexes like Superman saw his true face before he put the mask back.

Pretty sure that that version of Firestorm was revealed to be merged with Nathaniel Adam in #2.

So am I the only one who REALLY hates Monarch? I mean, he's just not likable at all. I know, he's a villain, but still. The Joker's a villian..but he's cool, Lex Luthor's a villain...but he's cool. etc. Monarch, I'm just ready for him to die now, because, well for lack of a better explanation, he's an asshole.

I just don't get it. For someone who at one point was one of the "good guys" his whole, I'll destroy your world just because I feel like it, attitude, is just overboard. Not to mention, since when is freakin Captain Atom pretty much the most powerful man in the Multiverse? He seems to be way to powerful.

Maybe it's just me personally not liking him, but I hope by the time Countdown's over he just dies.

I really dig the Earth 16 Superman. He's got a horrible design to him, but the whole zen aspect of the character really appeals to me.

It's been a long time since I said "Whoa" while reading a comic, but I said it when he grabbed the other 2 Supermen by their heat vision and bashed them together. I don't recall ever seeing something like that happen.

Monarch is too damn powerful. I mean, since when Monarch can take Red Son's Superman punches like being rocks at his armor?

I think it is a pretty lousy series. The Monarch premise just doesn't do it.

Out of the blue, we have this dude who wants to rule the multiverse and has the power to withstand waves of the strongest heroes. Can anyone believe that this Team Atom will do squat.

The art was on the level of Daffy Duck this time.

Also, Ray Palmer being the secret that will save 52 universes, all of which are full of a multitude of galaxies and 13 billion light years wide is a touch ridiculous.

The original Anti-Monitor had some gravitas to him in the COIE. This seems all so contrived. I never bought Mr. Mind creating universes either. The original multiverse came from an interaction of Krona and what seemed the Almighty at the time.

This one, don't really buy it.

Weirdly enough, Forerunner managed to deck Monarch in Countdown to Adventure 4 while in Countdown - Arena even a army of alternate characters can't scratch his armor. The only thing they managed to do is Darkest Knight getting his helmet off and dying of a horrible death. Yes, I think that's a absurd. Forerruner ins't stronger than Superman. Superman could get hit by her's best punch and he would laugh for hours.
