Sheesh, no kidding. Why own albums you're not going to listen to all the way through?

I pretty much listen to all my albums all the way through. To me, it's sort of like reading a book, there's a beginning, middle, and end, all of which has to be listened to get the full intended affect of the album.

Although this is true, Guns N' Roses' Appetite for Destruction is, thus far, the only album I've listened to that has no bad/subpar songs in it whatsoever.

All of them. If I don't like the whole album, then I get rid of it.

Well, there are way too many for me to list but I would never go this far. Even the best artists/ groups often have filler and/ or tracks that aren't really to my taste.

Most albums are usually going to have one or two tracks that you skip over to get to better ones. Should I throw those albums out?

robBecause then I would have very few albums to listen to. I mean, albums are made by people, and people have different tastes and output. Even the best albums have songs that aren't as good as others, or are in different styles, etc. I skip at least one or two songs on most of my favorite albums. I'm not going to fault a band who makes great music for trying something out that doesn't suit my taste or just wasn't firing on all cylinders that day. The creative process is a difficult one, particularly when trying to make something that resonates with everyone.

Besides, it's absurd to refuse to listen to an artist just because they can't make a set of 10 songs I want to listen to. That pretty much eliminates every single Aerosmith album because they put a shitty ballad on every single album, and have admitted so. They are one of my favorite bands. iTunes pretty much lives on the concept of individual songs over albums.

Having said that...

Albums that I truly can listen to and enjoy from start to finish without skipping one single song?

AC/DC Back in Black
Aerosmith Honkin on Bobo (although I sometimes do skip a few, I don't have to)
Any Beatallica album
Weird Al: Off the Deep End
Led Zeppelin I, II, IV,
Megadeth Rust in Peace, So Far, so Good, so What
Metallica - Kill em All, Master of Puppets, Load, St. Anger
Offspring - Smash
Pantera - Cowboys from Hell, Vulgar Display of Power
System of a Down - self titled, Hypnotize/Mesmerize
Kings of Convenience...I forget the album title, but the one with "I want to Dance"

And this is being pretty generous.

Even my favorite albums have songs I skip past (read: "Planet Caravan" on Paranoid).

A better thread would be what songs do you skip past on albums you love.

Sheesh, no kidding. Why own albums you're not going to listen to all the way through?

A Tribute to Jack Johnson, Miles Davis
Bitches' Brew, Miles Davis

The Who - Who's Next
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
The Pixies - Doolittle
The Replacements - Tim
The Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady (Technically a comp, but whatever)
The Clash - The Clash
Nas - Illmatic (OK, this is stretching it a bit, as I hate the intro track, but that's so short I generally don't bother skipping it, so this technically counts)
The Beatles - Abbey Road
The Beatles - Revolver

Damn good question. Off the top of my head, Gnarls Barkley, but something I have to be in a certain mood for the title song.

Children of Dune, that gets me through slow work days.

Purple Rain is another good one I can listen to all the way.

Wow, have to get back to you. I know there's more.
