Dan Fogelberg did not play a style of music that appealed to the taste of most members of this forum (this writer excepted), but he was a singer-songwriter of some note during the late 1970s and early 1980s who had a few pleasant hits. Mr. Fogelberg passed away yesterday due to prostate cancer (http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/12/16/obit.fogelberg.ap/index.html#cnnSTCText).
Rest in peace.

This is sad and only 56 years old, too. I grew up on CCR and Fogelberg's music. RIP Dan.

CCR was John Fogerty (and his brother Tom), not Dan Fogelberg.
Regardless, while I can't say I ever really enjoyed Fogelberg's music, he defined AM singer-songwriter pop for a few years in the 70s, and always struck me as one of the least cynical people in the business. Au revoir.

My wife really enjoys his music and I like a couple of his songs. Still a very sad way to go, and relatively young at that.

Almost every year, I hear Fogelberg's classic Same Auld Lang Syne at least once between Christmas and New Years Eve, and I always find it very sad and moving. This year, it will sound especially sad to me. Other than that song, I wasn't really a fan of his music.

Ditto to all!
Same Old Lang Syne just touches the deepest emotions everytime I hear it. I feel a chill everytime the first few words begin...
