Captain Marvel and the Sentry

So the Sentry with the whole Mighty avengers is having a hard time destroying a giant robot and all Captain Marvel has to do is fly through his chest?

The Sentry needs to go through the initiative training so he can learn to use his powers.....

writers need to come up with some consistency and actual development for the Sentry more than anything. He's the most ambiguous questionable super power in the MU and no one knows what to really do with him.
Does anyone else get the feeling that writers are afraid of Sentry as a Superman of the MU?

The problem is that writers tend to use the Mighty Avengers team as Marvel's premier team in guest appearances to then have someone else take care of the threat which makes them seem almost ineffectual. Look at Avengers: The Initiative (where Armory basically does the work for them), the first issue of Captain Marvel, World War Hulk, and Silent War.
