Who is the most likey to save the MU from the Skrulls? [Archive]

I'm seeing this as a way to revitalize some big character in a big way that has been floundering.

My theories-

1. Nick Fury is gonna come back big and save the day.
2. Captain America Steve Rogers is gonna return and save the day.
3. Captain Marvel will save the day and bring some importance to his pointless return to the present day.
4. Hulk will somehow redeem himself and be viewed more heroically.

Andres and I believe that the Avengers will save the world but it would later be revealed that the Great Lakes Avengers are the ones who triggered the end of the Skrull Empire.

Theres definitely going to be some big parts played by Captain Marvel and MS Marvel I hear.

The only reason I dont think it will be Tony is throughout the different initiative issues and minis Tony is being portrayed as rather ineffective at his job. Not performing to what people seem to expect of him. Right now he is Marvel's character that can do no right I think. He is Marvel's incompetent dead horse that gets to be kicked over and over again.

I'm reading it more that Stark is being oppessed on all fronts; from the anti-reg heroes to villains to corrupt politians to a distrustful public. I think Secret Wars will be a big moment for Ironman, a chance for him to correct a few wrongs and show people why he got the job in the first place. I would much rather see Tony take care of the Skrulls than Fury.

His technology allowed the X-men to figure out that the "dead" Wolverine was not the true Logan but a skrull and that Logan had become the Horsemen Death when the X-men visited the Skrulll moon that was the training
ground for the Skrull imposters. The Skrull invasion has been in motion since way back then.

It's never explained how Sinister gets his tissue samples for his library, but somehow along the way he must have figured out that some of the mutants aren't mutants but Skrulls in disguise.

No, no, no - it'll be the team from Paul Cornell's Wisdom series. First of all, Skrull John and the rest of the Fab Four would make it the British Invasion vs. the Secret Invasion. Secondly, well, yer can't stop Captain Midlands.

I would give more of the love to the Skrull Kill Krew, but sadly, they're all supposed to be dead by now from the effects of Mad Skrull-Cow Disease, and we all know that Marvel never resurrects dead characters.

I'd say Shield will do it again, that is, as part of the Initiative, with Tony as the head. Marvel has pretty much portrayed the Initiative winning in all encounters since the SHRA started.

im voting ironman/tony stark is the hero here. i think hes been prepping for this for a long time being a futurist and all. ever since the savage land. all those tests on people to make sure they were them...thor, spidey, hawkeye. 42 in the negative zone so he can see who is who. civil war to confuse things.

I think Steve Rogers will return (as he ain't dead), with the real Doctor Strange, Ms Marvel and Wolverine from wherever they have been and join with Tony Stark in fighting the invasion. The real thor might turn up as well:D

I would love for it to be Rom. Man, if anybody could be considered an expert on detecting and combating Shapeshifters, then it would be Rom the Spaceknight. Shame it can't happen.

I'm guessing Rogue will play a big part in it. She can absorb somebody and try to shapeshift.

I picked NA. This is Bendis' plot creation so I think he'd want that crew to be the saviors. Besides, it's a nice twist to have an erstwhile street-level team solve a global-level problem. Plus I think we're going to find that at least 2 of the MA are skrulls, decreasing the likelihood that the stronger team will save the day.
