Hi all, I am new to the forums, though several of you have mentioned my blog (http://manodogs.blogspot.com) here before and I thank you, one and all - even if you had bad things to say about me or it or both! But this is not why I am writing:

I got me a new computer and I wanted a festive holiday wallpaper for my desktop. Of course, I wanted a comic book Christmas wallpaper, but I found none on the company websites and all the others I found were basically from the company sites.

So I go to searching and found nothing but EXE wallpapers of animated elves and trees and snowfalls and they all want to install 4490739087 toolbars and registry programs and then they continually throw pop-ups at me when I don't.

Now, I have a scanner and I know I have at least a few comics with holiday-themed splashes and so forth, but I don't want to pull all my boxes out and go through thousands of books for a simple picture that's only going to be up for another 2 weeks or so, not to mention that I haven't even bothered to see if my scanner will work with Vista yet.

Does anyone know of any Christmassy comic book pictures I can use for a wallpaper? Screen saver? Something festive? I WANT TO BE FESTIVE - FESTIVE, DO YOU HEAR ME?!

Thanks!

DC Wallpaper thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=65138) in the DC area, All Comic Art Wallpaper Thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=134356) in the Artist & Writer Showcase, Superhero Holiday Wallpaper Challenge thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=195013) Also in the A&W Showcase.

Did you use Google Images or just regular Google? I found that http://images.devilfinder.com is also a good way to find images.

Thanks, man! I too am old...

I am on an anti-Google kick after their unceremonious shakedown of the Web, so I did not use Goober - er, Google - for anything. I used Clusty, Ask, AlltheWeb, and Yahoo...

I seem to recall a team-shot of the X-folk or maybe the Avengers in a snowy setting, all with Santa caps or something... it's a fuzzy, hazy thing (again... old!) but it's there. Still, it would be in newsprint and I don't want to risk hurting the spine just to scan it. I'll check the threads you mentioned and thanks again!
