Right now, a few of my coworkers are holed up in one of their offices, playing Guitar Hero.

And I'm posting about it here.

Lotta work gettin' done today. Yep.

What are you doing instead of working?

Trying to keep my sanity!

It feels like it should be Friday today. Actually, TUESDAY felt like Friday. Most of my department is gone. It's a ghost town around here with the exception of a few engineers and product managers running around. Next Friday can't come soon enough.

Perusing this forum, and every other forum (except the Rumbles board) in an effort ot keep from grading papers.

I did a little bit of work at work today. However, with the snowstorm hitting, I ended up going home 2 1/2 hours early.

Plus my back precluded me doing much in the way of heavy lifting.

I answered some phone calls and shuffled some paper around at work this morning. Then we had our company christmas luncheon.

This time of year most of our clients close for the holidays so its really slow in the office.

Our company's holiday lunch was yesterday, so that killed a couple of hours. Actually, today is the first day this week I've had to do any actual work, and I've managed to make a couple of hours worth of work last all day. Not that I'm trying to look busy; I just got lazy and spoiled from it being so slow this week.

I'm supposed to be grading papers, but instead I'm playing Fire Emblem and watching an African movie.

I play a lot of City of Heroes at work. Of course, I only have approximately 2 1/2 - 3 hours work to do in 8 hours, so it all works out.

I assign all my work to other people and then come on here for a bit, then play Playstation for a while and then order some food and take a nap after I am done eating. Then I walk around the office yelling at people which leads to the end of my day.

Making jerk chicken wings and playing Scrabble on Facebook. Yes, I have a ton of work to do, but I'm working from home today. That means, I'm not going to work much today.

Contemplating whether I am going to call in sick to work tomorrow. It's the last week before we close for the holidays, so things are slow anyway, and we just got about 30 cm over the weekened, with a few more cm to come overnight. I live within walking distance of my job, but they haven't plowed the sidewalks yet.

So, what do you all think? Should I be the tough cookie and trudge to work tomorrow, or should I call in with a "twisted ankle" and take an extra-long weekend?

It depends on how much you've slept the last month or so.

If you need it, the time is worth taking off.

Some of y'all make work sound fun...

In school, the teachers are trying to wrap everything up by slapping us with major tests. So we've been studying our butts off.

And sadly, my school does semester exams AFTER break, so we have to study during the holiday.

Wow. That's a pretty clever way to screw you over.

I just have trouble with finals that all fall on the same day that are due with papers and it's a mess of me doing a bit of everything and not as well as i should.

It is SOOOOO boring here today. There are 3 people left in my department now and we'll be down to two tomorrow. It's difficult getting anything done because the people that need to approve things are already gone on vacation!

Everyone's out of my department right now except for me, and we're part of a teacher's union so... Yeah you can expect how much work we're having right now. The organizing department is crazy busy, everyone else is sort of doing crossword puzzles.

Next week is going to be worse though with the 3 days after Christmas and then the long weekend for New Years. I'm at least taking next friday off so that I have an extra long weekend for my birthday.

So right now I'm sort of floating between some summary writing, research, working on a blog (which is terrible, but its http://memlap.blogspot.com because I'm seeking validation), checking my email, and checking on my WoW guild's forum.

The joke here is so few people will be at work we'll have a full party with rum punch.

Instead of packing for my vacation which begins tomorrow, I am trying to finish The Black Dossier, although the Kerouac/Burroughs section is driving me nuts.

I've been remarkably busy this week so far...though tomorrow is the last day before we close for the holidays (re-opening Jan 2) so I imagine we won't be very productive tomorrow. I'm kind of hoping the boss will close the office and send us home early tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath. Almost half of the office is already gone for the holidays burning up vacation time or being "sick."

I've spent most of the week on big data-entry projects and filing. Not particularly hard work, but the kind of thing where I can "look busy" get some web surfing in and still be able to report progress at the end of the day.

I work at a College. On top of that a service department, so no classes = no work. I've just sat here all week. If they want to pay me to sit here for 8 hours just in case the phone the rings, let them.

Yesterday I brought my laptop and played Castlevania 2 and Super Doom Mario all day.

Today is the Christmas party, so I'm just looking for an interesting topic at CBR to waste about 2 hours then I'm sneaking out the back door. :D

It's still slow here, as well. There's been some work coming in, but we've got enough staff that it's getting spread around and none of us (at least at my level) are too busy. Next week, almost everyone's on vacation, but there should be hardly anything to do. I'm in the office Thurs. and Fri next week, and I expect it to be pretty quiet.

Happy Slow Times Around The Holidays, everybody!

My work crush was wearing a form fitting dress yesterday. I went home early.

Today I am at home, first day off for the holiday and I have a cold and sinus headache.

Weep for me.

I'm heading in to work in an hour. The next four days are the busiest of the year. I've never had a job that allows me to post on the Internet. I pretty much just work when I'm at work.

Did you go home early because of the cold? Or because of the form fitting dress?

I've gotten my loose ends tied up today. I told my only employee that's left to take off at 2:00. I'll probably follow shortly after...
