Now that the team has been revealed and the first arc has concluded, who is your favorite New New New New New (I'm looking at you "Barry") Warriors?
Before anyone asks, breakout superstar Tina is not an official team member to be included.
Sorry.

Jubilee is the only character in this book that is recognizable as the character she used to be. Everyone else has been o.c.ed. Just look at Stacy X. She looks like a teenager and not someone that spent her life doing tricks for money. Angel lost her realistic figure. Sofia lost her personality. Beak got hit with the magic looks stick. I could care less about Radian, Tatoo, and Red Neck.

I love the new designs, but I have to say they all got prettified, and its not always good. However, I love Decibel's and Blackwing's design, and their new abilities are better than their old. Ultimately, I had to choose Decibel because he has real powers.

I really don't get Jubilee disguising herself at all. Same deal with Chamber. It just doesn't seem to fit.

you really like Jono's new look better than his old? I mean it has grown on me but it will never replace the Bachalo design. And Im pretty sure his new powers are tech as well. And his old powers where much cooler. JMO.
and yeah I got to agree this book is really terrible with the OOC stuff. In fact Im now kinda hoping that this Jono is a skrull & the real one turns up in the relaunched Excalibur...

Blackwing/Beak. No contest. Always loved the character, so I'm glad he's back. :D

is he back? or did Jason Priestly jump him in an alleyway and impersonate a depowered Beak; in order to revive his career?

So the New Warriors are a bunch of ex New X-Men? New Warriors would count as a de-facto X-book?

Bah. I don't care about the arguments about his appearance. He's still my Beakie. :)

That's what bugs me about the book. I don't mind it having some old X-men characters, but at least give half the roster or so to actual characters with ties to the New Warriors.

The costume designs are nice, though. I like them all except Skybolt who reminds me of that guy in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ripcord who just looks rather boring in comparison to everyone else.
I like the real Sofia.
That's my answer!
*high fives the swell guy*
Normal Sofia is one of my favorite characters, but I also really liked Chamber, Angel, and Stacy X of old. They're just really unfamiliar now.
Out of their current incarnations, Jubilee and Decibel are the best written. Sofia's still not reminiscent of who she was, but she's not as far off as the others.

Medina's version looks a lot better than Kolins version (especially now that the clown markings are downplayed and he lost his brown locks), but his Bachalo design was just so captivating I'm sad that it was lost in the fire that is that really random issue of New Excalibur.

I don't know if its just the fact that I liked these characters, but their circumstances kinda warrant them to stick together and like Jubilee mentioned in today's issue, provides a sense of camaraderie.
Bandit presumably provides that link between them (former mutants who also have just concerns about registration) and the old New Warriors (about preserving their legacy and fighting the fallout of the groups' mistakes).

I voted for Blackwing...though I have to admit, I havent really liked anybody all that much. I do remember thinking Skybolt was pretty cool last issue though, and I like Blackwing's design.

These are just new characters with some old names. None of them are personality-wise even close to how they were last time I saw them.

I want to vote for Sofia. I really want to vote for Sofia. I would give anything to be able to vote for Sofia, but I can't. I can't because she's just...not the same Sofia that I want to vote for. I want to vote for New Mutants Sofia, not New Warriors Sofia. But that's not a New Warriors character.
So instead, I vote Wondra. Because the characters need to be taken in view of who they are now, not who they were before. Wondra has demonstrated the strong, independent leadership qualities that her team will need down the road. She's a field leader, she's a recruiter, and she's a flagship character all in one. Where the rest of the team is ill-defined at best, depending on previous appearances to develop them fully, Wondra shows everything you need to know about the girl that was Jubilee and who she is now.

In terms of just costume design, I voted for Beak/Blackwing. I've always liked winged characters and his costume's just cool (and at least he has some auxiliary weapons outside of his wings).
However, in terms of the characters themselves, I can't say I'm too psyched about any of them in their current incarnation except for Jubilee. She's basically the only one who's stayed true to herself. The rest, either in personality or in looks, seem to be very different people. Like others have said, Angel & Beak both got hit with the beautiful stick, and that's not really a good thing. Stacy-X looks remarkably young and nice for an ex-streetwalker. Ex-delinquents Phaser & Redneck seem to have decided to walk the straight and narrow (I guess you could say they were being controlled by Quire or Kick before, but I dont know). And Chamber seems remarkably chipper despite being mostly somber and sarcastic before.
Now, for the personalities, you could say it's natural character progression and that's all fine and dainty but this is comics we're talking about. In order to remain timeless and relatively ageless, the characters are written in nearly the same way they've been portrayed since their debuts. That's part of their charm. That's why Cap is always altruistic or why Spidey is always wise-cracking. Sure, they might go thru an "angsty" period here and there, but like their costumes or powers, they'll always "reset" back to their "classic" position. That's why changing a character's personality (and by extension their looks, which does as much to determine who that character is) is like creating a new character all together.

Not necessary....they could have been serving their time prior to M-Day....
Or better yet, they were still in prison when M-Day happenned and might've been transfer to a regular prison to finish their sentences {unless a lawyer claimed that losing their powers was punishment enough and had them do community service to finish their sentences..}...

The most likely scenario was already outlined in Grant Morrison's "Riot at Xavier's" at the end. They were ALREADY in human prison, so they couldn't be transferred there, they were in the process of being released, according to Wolverine, and when they were they would be doing International aid work in third world countries. This was what was promised on panel, and seems likely enough, especially given the fact that the Taylor Foundation is a conglomeration of charitable organizations.
Taking into account that these are really new characters with names and vague appearence akin to previous characters; Wondra. But that's like asking me to pick my favorite way of being punched in the face.

None of these characters are acting like themselves. I love Beak and Angel, and I hate the way they're being written in NW, not to mention how they look. Beak is awkward and skinny and punk rock and has big nose. Where did all that go?

Grevioux: Yeah, the mutation that made him what he was caused him to appear bird-like. When he lost his mutant abilities, the way I look at it, it happened slowly with him. In other words, when Scarlet Witch did what she did, his mutation went away immediately, but his body still changed until it settled on what it is now. In my mind this is how he looked prior to his slow-change into the Beak character, or what became Beak.

Much as I prefer Chamber's old look, I have to go with Decibel. And Blackwing.
But the story should have centered on them remaining outcasts even within the remaining mutants after M-Day. Not on them learning Tae Bo.

Okay well that answers one of my questions. But that still doesn't explain why Jubilee has breast implants and Angel lost 100 pounds and changed her race.

Jubilee lost her mutant power to create pyrotechnic blasts...
but somehow gained the power to feed a dozen children.
