For this week's topic, I have selected

NEWSPAPERS

http://www.comics.org/graphics/covers/141/400/141_4_000000336.jpg
Eligible covers must prominently feature a newspaper or newspapers, or be presented in the style of a newspaper page.
The traditional rules apply:

The cover has to be on the topic chosen by the previous winner, who is the sole judge of what is allowed.

You can only post one cover.

Entries must be actual comic covers.

You just vote for your favorite cover.

I have a soft spot for the NewsBoy Legion, stars of Star Spangled Comics, and broadsheet printers extraordinaire. Weather: "Just right for ACTION."

I see your Newsboy Legion, and I raise you:

http://www.dcs.shef.ac.uk/~ajhs/research/papers/tv21/tv21coverS.jpg

Which should automatically win just because, but also because EVERY SINGLE ISSUE acted like it was a newspaper genuinely reporting what was happening.

And now it IS Century 21!

That's a good cover, with some cleverly written articles, that's marred by a horrible headline. "Smack you up"? That's just bad for different reasons.

Technically, I could've picked any issue of Transmetropolitan because the title of the book is a ripped front page of a newspaper. I went with this one though.

This week I go with Chris Nowlin. I love that the cover shows Doc Ock enjoys a morning cup of Folgers. Somehow it makes him more human of a villain.

I imagine he also enjoys the Family Circus. Most of his plans come from Billy's adventures.

Honorable mention to paradox for the whiniest Superman you ever did see.

The Beast Of Yucca Flats

Chris Nowlan's Spidey. Why didn't I think of that one?

DubipR's Bolland-Bat gets an honorable mention.

This is easly one of the toughest in quite a while.

MW comes right out of the box with a Batman cover from my era.

Couple of great Spidey covers. Joe Kubert. EC.

But...I have to go with Spackling Compound. I love Howard for Prez.
