What code names should become legacy names?

I could see Colossus being a Legacy Character. Phoenix kind of is a Legacy code name.. Beast, ... Nightcrawler, ... Ice Man is generic enough that it could be a legacy name. Any other ideas?

Frenzy would make a good Legacy character.

I agree with the others but...Iceman shouldn't even continue on as Iceman. :P

Iceman, Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Phoenix.

Cyclops could be one since it supposedly refers to Scott's single-minded devotion to his job instead of his visor.

Professor X could be the title of the Headmaster of the Institute once baldy kicks the bucket for real.

Warpath already is one. Xorn too if you consider the post-Morrison mess worthwhile.

How is Xorn a legacy name?

Angel could easily be a legacy name, same with Beast. In fact, we need a little Beast baby. Get to it McCoy.

"Yes" to Marvel Girl, Angel, and Beast but a "No" to Wolverine.

Angel is kind of a legacy name, if you consider Angel Salvatore using it as her super-name in addition to her real name (I do). She even argued with Warren over use of the name. And there was some Golden Age unconnected Angel, but I didn't count him.

Phoenix and Marvel Girl are good ones. I can see other people going by names like Rictor (give the name to someone with powers), Leech, or Psyche.

Turns out there were a couple o' "Xorns" running around. I believe there was the original Chinese Xorn, that Xorn's brother (I think, because I may have tried to block that reveal from memory), and Magneto as Xorn.

Edit: Oh, and the Collective used the name Xorn during its rampage. I dunno which Xorn it thought it was, though...

So what is that, like four Xorns? Too bad its such a cool name.

I think Xorn and Magneto-Xorn were the same person. Shen-Xorn and The Collective were the same as well.

If Wolverine ever died I could see X-23 taking the name for herself.

But that will never happen.:)

Mastermind is kinda 2.5.

And according to UncannyXmen Mercury is Mercury V... which made me a bit o.O

I know there was a male Mercury, once. But didn't know there were 3 others... o.O is right.

The white queen.

Wasn't there another White Queen at some point? In fact wasn't Storm up for White Queen at some point during Shinobi Shaw's run at Black King?

DeniseXfrost

There were the original white queen, then the white queen II (Emma), White queen III (Adriene) and another white queen (Courtney.)

ahh okay thanks. Wait Courtney Emma's other psychic sister? Don't tell me shes evil too? (I only know Emma's family through her short mini series and thought Courtney (the young punker/rebellious one) was kind of cool. It'd be nice if Emma got along with one of her siblings beside her brother. (he's dead right?)

DeniseXfrost

No, Courtney is not her sister. She's from other timeline or sth. Cloderia is her rebellious sister.

You could count Magneto; Polaris' original codename was Magneto II.

Juggernaut, if you count the MC2 reality.

As for White Queen: Reeva Payge or Benazir Kaur were also the White Queen (we never got to know which one was which though).

Warlock/Magus seem to be inherited titles, with Warlock becoming Magus when he defeats him.

As for Angel or Jubilee, where unrelated characters happen to have the same name; there have been several Spikes and Quills within the X-Men franchise.

Non-X-teams:
The functions in the Shi'ar Imperial Guard are legacy titles (four Fangs so far for instance).

Mystique had a second Crimson Commando and Super Sabre during Dream's End, but they were only seen once.

The Reaver's Skullbuster has been three different people so far.

As mentioned the Hellfire Club and teams like the Horseman of Apocalypse, all have set titles which are used by various characters.

But Dizzy, that would include 'White Queen', which has been discussed as a legacy character name in a string of posts above.

I thought Polaris was called Magnetrix, not just Magneto.

Plus Xorn isn't a codename as such it's a surname.

I'd ask if you meant the name, or Emma herself, but I already know you'd say both. I admire your consistency in hating her. I might not agree with it, but you sir, as constant as the North Star on that.

A little more clarification, the real Courtney Ross was Captain Britian's college girlfriend, who worked her way to heading Fraiser's Bank. She was killed and then impersonated by Sat-yr-9, her facist analog from a parallel timeline.

"Courtney" shares nothing in common with Emma outside a position and title within the Hellfire Club's inner circle, fake blonde hair (they're both really brunettes) and a Claremontian lesbobcession with Kitty Pryde.
