I know very little about manga, but because of my website I am trying to learn more. A fair bit seems too silly for my tastes (same goes for DC and Marvel stuff though too, but I know where to look for the good stuff when it comes to the big two) and I have been having a hard time finding a series I want to follow.

A couple of weeks ago I read Pumpkin Scissors and loved it. I thought it would be a perfect book for superhero readers looking for something different.

I was wondering though. Is it derrivitive of a lot of other manga series? Is it something that has been done a million times in other manga, but new to me? It won't change my enjoyment at all since I loved it, but I am bored this evening and I finally found a place to ask the question.

BTW, I know it is also an anime show, and I have seen place to watch it on the web, but I think I want to stick with the manga - maybe watch after I read.

Ah, the random English title syndrome. In Japan, English is the foreign and strange language, so they pepper titles, character names, and dialog with it.

As for the series itself, I only vaguely know of it.

As for suggestions of more mature manga, I know I've posted some in other threads.
