Lobo and Gene Simmons - Switched at Birth?

I and my co-hosts at Four Color Heroines (http://girl-wonder.org/4colorheroines) came up with a question while recording our latest podcast, and we thought that you here at CBR might be able to help us answer it.

Did the creator of Lobo ever say whether his resemblance to the concert makeup for Kiss was intentional?

He is based on the Kiss guys. I thought that was common knowledge already.

Given Gene Simmons' tendancy to sue just about anyone/thing that performs in kabuki make-up, I'd say no, they have never admitted it.

Also, Lobo really doesn't look like any members of KISS.

Lobo reminded me a little more of Alice Cooper than KISS. Maybe a cross between Cooper and Simmons.
