Who are the greatest pessimists and optimists in anime?
Most pessimistic characters-
Nozomu Itoshiki alias Zetsubou-sensei (Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei) is the super-negative teacher for his endless rants of despair and his pessimistic outlook on life. That's why he's called "Mr. Despair" (Zetsubou-sensei)

Kafuka Fuura (Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei) is the super-positive student whose overtly optimistic outlook comes off sometimes very amusing. She sure knows how to positively produce an twisted interpretation of anything that is actually negative.
