Is there anything that can be done with the communist villains, now that the Berlin wall has fallen? Some have reformed (Radioactive Man) others have become interesting villains in their own right (Chameleon, Abomination) but most others have just become petty crooks, remained outdated political stereotypes or are in limbo.

All I know is that it's been a long time since we've seen The Red Ghost and his Super-Apes.
Let alone, the real Egg Fu.

red ghost was in Black panther/ X-men wild kingdom
but i think that the villans should either be changed to ignoring the comunisum or just make them comunists for them selves and not a contrey.

That's because those villains were just lame political stereotypes, with no interesting traits of their own.

Red Guardian, anyone? I guess he is dead though. But still a communist villain.

There has been plenty of red guardians over the years , the one hanging with the russian supergroup "Soviet Super soldiers" aka "People's proctorate" aka "Supreme Soviets" aka "Winter guard" is now known as the steel guardian and is still very much alive.

Is there anything that can be done with the communist villains, now that the Berlin wall has fallen? You might as well ask "Is there anything that can be done with Nazi villains, now that WWII is over?"

There is a bit of a difference, in that it ties the heroes into their commie-busting roots. With Nazis, there's always a time gap. For instance, let's take Captain America. He fought with the Red Skull during WWII, and he will always have fought with the Skull during WWII. Now Cap doesn't have that many communist villains, not ones who stuck around for more than an issue or two, so let's take Red Guardian, whom he fought in Avengers. Now, if we are following the 10 year rule, that fight had to of taken place sometime after 1997. Which is significantly after the fall of the USSR. Which would make the Guardian a rather bizarre anachronism in his very first appearance.

You're claiming that a twenty foot tall Chinese guy who looks exactly like a giant egg or a man whose only friends are a group of smelly space-monkeys have no interesting traits of their own?
Somehow, I just don’t agree.

Ha! Yeah, I have to agree there. Most characters have potential, just depends on the writing.
I would personally like to see more of the communist aspect of characters played out in comics today.

No, that is totally wrong.
The original Red Guardian, while surviving for only one issue, was very definitely presented as a Soviet Super-Hero.
He's only called a villian on the cover.
Which at the time was a fairly revolutionary moment in comics history.
Although the Berlin Wall came down in 1989 & the Soviet Union collapsed, Communism still exists in Cuba, North Korea, & China. It's still a relevant concept to be used in comics such as the Yellow Claw & even the Mandarin since he wants to retain his Chinese heritage.

True. My bad.
However, couldn't it be said that at that time (especially considering the strains of the Cold War) Red Guardian was a villain?

The fact that giant Egg is a racist stereotype doesn't help his case and there is a line between interesting and just stupid. Do any of those characters have any traits besides being communists?

I've never understood why we needed both a Titanium Man and a Crimson Dynamo.

well first crimson dynamo defecded to the US. then titanium man stepped up to the plate
i think the crimson dynamo is worn out.
they need to bring back titanium man.

Use happy faces next time, I have seen too many people say very silly things and meant them to be serious online, to assume otherwise at this point.
