Ok has it been stated or hinted at that Someone will be behind Final Crisis similar to how Alex and Prime were behind Infinite Crisis?

I believe Darkseid, or Monarch, is the one behind Final Crisis. Especially Darkseid, as he have been show in issue 25 as the suspect of the manipulation of pretty much everyone in the DC Universe.

I don't think it has officially been stated. Of course we didn't know who was behind IC until like the 5th or 6th issue in.

I called it as Darkseid when issue 26 came out.

Reason is he is the chief DC villain and if you're going to do the greatest crossover ever, it's only sensible you make him the villain. It's like thinking from a movie producer's point of view.

Second they kind of made it pretty obvious he is the one in issue 26 since he's watching everything.

Don't think it's Darkseid, seems too predictable. There's got to be a twist in there somewhere.

Plus he's going to die in Death of the New Gods. He's excepted his fate and will go out with a bang

Well all Darkseid ever wanted was the power of the Anti-Life equation, and knowing he's very intelligent maybe the only way for him to gain it is by dying.

What is Monarch's motive? Is he trying to kill all the Monitors so they'd stop messing up the Multiverse, or is he trying to be the ruler of the entire Multiverse?

And I wonder what's holding Superman-Prime back from destroying New Earth, there has to be something otherwise it would've been the first one to be destroyed...unless he's saving the best for last.

So there's pretty much 3 possible main villains for Final Crisis, how they'll all play a role in it will become clearer as we get closer to Final Crisis

really? if you think about it. Darkseid has never tried to all out take over/destroy the universe etc. he's the big bad cosmic villain that unites all heroes. it just makes sense for him to be a major part of it. if not the chief villain.

The Big Bad behind Final Crisis......will be......Tim Drake.

He will ally himself with SuperBOY/Man prime in hopes of bringing back his Earth Prime.

So he can kick the holy S@#% out of Dan Dido(and Company)ass for killing his friends and family the past few years.

I'm guessin it'll kind of be like IC where there will be multiple things creating a crisis (Spectre running wild, bringing back multiverse, society, etc)

My guess is whoever is killing the New Gods will be the ultimate bad guy. How do you stop someone that essentially kills Gods with no problems? I'm guessing there will be side villains like the Monitors, Superboy Prime (I'm guessing he turns good to fight the ultimate villain though, but dies), Monarch, etc.

I'd really like to see Prime become a good guy, but I think after what happened on Earth-15 that kind of showed that he's at the point of not backing down on his mission to find his Earth and destroy all the others. I mean it MIGHT happen, but I think it'd make a better story if a hero actually has to take his life.

I can see him finding Earth-Prime and finding and telling his parents what he did only for them to be horrified. then he'd probably just kill him because the perfect superman doesn't need parents or some such (Silver-Age Supermans parents died).

Why would he want to destroy new earth? He said in one of the sinestro corps issues that he was waiting for the anti-monitor to bring back earth prime and then he was going to take him out and rule everything.

But it wasn't until later Prime found out that the Multiverse actually existed, after he learns about it why wouldn't he take out the Earth that made him who he was?

Grant Morrison. He's been trapped in the DC Universe since he wrote himself into Animal Man. He was forced into service in the Suicide Squad for a short time as "The Writer". He has been slowly going mad over the last two decades. He has been trying to bring the DCU to full consciousness so that he could then kill it and set himself free.
The Grant Morrison that worked for Marvel and wrote X-Men was just the soulless automaton that he left behind all those years ago.

Jimmy Olsen, I say Didio is going to do something like oh, Jimmy has these powers and he is killing all of the new gods without actually knowing that he is doing so and when he finds out he will go insane and try and kill all of the DC superheroes. I made this up as a joke, but I have this sinking sensation in the bottom of my stomach that somewhere Didio sits stroking a white cat going this idea is genius.

I don't think it'll be one of the 'usual suspects', like Darkseid. From past work, Morrisson demonstrates both a love for comic history, and a really keen sense of what's 'cool'.

In other words, it'll be a big time shocker, whatever he's got cooked up.

That's kind of like JLA: THE NAIL.

Well since THE NAIL was an other world story maybe the Jimmy Olson is the Jimmy Olson of that Earth or maybe he's a skrull. With that Batman rumor a while back Didio wants to imitate Marvel. Hopefully this stays as how I originally intended it as a joke, but as before Didio is probably reading this going that is some great ideas.

See I think of Didio is more like Dr. Evil so maybe it's a hairless cat.
