After the great recap page by Bobby Drake we are taken to a NASA mission control room where the X-Men and Xavier are helping with a mission. Turns out NASA detected lifeforms on an asteriod and want the Professor's help confirming.

Xavier, using a NASA satellite/probe, beings to scan the asteriod when he reaches his limit and has to break connection. Apprently he found nothing. A little green energy trail is shown to be shooting off the asteriod heading towards Earth.

Next morning at the mansion Beast wakes up, as he hops outta bed he falls to the ground. His body is noticably smaller. He walks to Drake room is quite pissed off that Hank is waking him up on a Saturday. Drake throws his hands out like he is trying to throw snowballs at Hank but nothing happens.

Out in the hallway they encounter Jean and throw a book at her...nothing happens.

Scott burts outta his room like it's Christmas morning...he can see...without the visor, without the glasses. Jean runs into Warren's room and he's sitting there in a bed of feathers. Poor Warren, he keeps picking them up saying that they just keep falling off.

Xavier gathers the students and tries to use Cerebro to search for other mutants. Cerebro finds Wanda and Pietro, they are still powered. It's a local event apprently.

As they discuss what is happening a Sentinel appears before the window and grabs Jean. Bobby and Scott jump into action. Scott with his hand by his eyes and Bobby acts like he's trying to form an ice slide to get to Jean. Notta. Nothing. Zilch. Xavier activates the mansion defenses and a forcefield pop ups on the windows...cutting off the Sentinels hand.

Scott yells to get Xavier to a safe room. As the others protest Scott's actions he tells them he is still trained by Xavier and sometimes that's better than no powers. He jumps down and runs past the Sentinel, taunting him as he runs. The Sentinel gives chase. Scott and the Sentinel continue their chase through the mansion, the Sentinel tells Scott he can follow him into any room. As they enter a large room Scott tells the Sentinel he shouldn't have followed him to this room.

Scott: Initiate full wargame scenario--all safeties off! If you're still recording data on us, we call this the Danger Room!!"

Jean are Bobby are at the other door watching as the Sentinel is blown to hell.

Bobby: "Scott, I don't ever say this, but you-freaking-rock!"

As they gather together Warren looks up as 10 more Sentinels land at the mansion.

To Be Continued...

2nd Story:

Another Jean/Wanda crime fighting tail. Cute story. They stake out a museum that has been losing artifacts each night. Turns out the Moleman is behind it. Jean gets worried that if she engages him, he'll remember her and send monsters to the mansion. Wanda takes Jean's mask and gloves and confronts Mole Man as the Marvel Witch!!! They get the jewels back. Back at the mansion the TV is on and Mole Man as invaded the surface...with flowers and candy...he is in love w/ the Marvel Witch.

-------------------------

The main story was pretty interesting. I'm curious as to what took their powers and why the Sentinels all of a sudden decided to attack. I didn't really expect to see Sentinels in this story, I figured it might be about how the students would adjust to losing their powers for the first time. Thought we'd get a nice moment w/ Scott and some sad stuff w/ Warren...but this is pretty decent development.

It's almost like Marvel sent out a memo..."Make Cyclops a badass again...in all titles". The scene w/ him and the Sentinel is pretty cool and vintage Scott Summers leading the Sentinel to the Danger Room.

The art is great as usual. Cruz is sharp and the colors are great. He certainly helps w/ the overall feel of this book.

The back up story is cute. If you liked the other Jean/Wanda team up, you'll like this one. Wanda's accent is pretty funny.

When I thought Scott's kick-ass moment in AXM #23 would have no competition in the X-books this year, Jeff Parker has him pw3ning a Sentinel powerless. Priceless.

Yes. Some of the early print-run was messed up. Jeff Parker mentioned it on his blog.
First Class Misprints!

I’m hearing tell of several early copies of X-Men First Class #6 that has pages seriously out of order. Like, the Colleen Coover cartoon falls in the middle of the book now, out of order. I assume Marvel will tell shops to hold on to these books while they make the printer fix things, but just in case watch out this Thursday. This is especially irksome because I was excited about the new storyline starting, and we have the longest Coover story yet. Oh well, it’s not like an asteroid is headed directly for Earth or anything. Which it isn’t.

Yes! It was so confusing. It started in the middle of the main story then went back to the beginning. That got cut short by the second story. Then after the second story finished, it went back to the end of the main story.

I was all whaaaaa?????

Much better now that I've read it in order. I still don't know what was going on with that comet, but I guess we'll find out next issue. Scott was a total star pwning the Sentinel without his powers

Wanda was so cute in the second story. I want to see Wanda versus Bubble-Head Villain, LOL.

I do. If not, I don't know why that whole scene was even there. I guess it's possible that Parker could be setting up a more long term plot with that, but I didn't think they were going to start doing stuff like that with this book.

Green and from outer space.... I say it's Doop.

No, I have no what it could be. Maybe Leech is in an underground tunnel near the mansion.

With this issue I have decided to drop this book as a monthly. I dont think it has delivered well in the past 2 issues. As cute as the Marvel Girl Scarlet Witch story is what is the point of putting it in the middle of a story? This was a let down and a snore fest and definitely does not interest me enough to come back next issue for the remainder of the story.

It wasn't suppose to be in the middle of your story. They screwed up a lot of the printings.
