Considering what people were saying regarding that villains image and why Piper wasn't in it (but his pipe, in the hands of Trickster, was)............this newest development is..............interesting, I guess? :confused:

No Trickester got shot in the chest, and Piper started looking at him with a weird nercophillic way.
By the way, The Mary Marvel/Eclipso thing was PIS, The Wizard Shazam himself couldn't fight off Eclipso.

Took a quick glance, and DAMN! What an awesome way to take out Trickster, Deadshot gets my vote for being the Bad-ass Merc of DC. I really want to see a full drawn-out Arena match to the death of Deathstroke vs. Deadshot

And did any one else get a weird vibe from Trickster and piper? before trickster ate the bullet that is.
and about that bullet, It looked to me like trickster shielded piper and took one to the Dome.
am I mistaken?

Some previews have Eclipso being the original guy again and the Spectre seems to be after Eclipso and the original guy again (whose name I forgot).
I also think it was interesting that Mxy seemed to really have his clocked cleaned by Prime and scared of him.
Interesting also that Darkseid has a sex life with concubines. Yuk.

My first one was telling people the black suited superman was superboy prime, and I still dig it into people. yes, sometimes I am an asshole.

Mxy seemed different. he was worried in the previous issue, but this time he was panicking.
I get the feeling Mxy sees Superboy-Prime as the Superman who wouldn't take his shit unlike the benevolent big blue.

absolutely Trixter was shielding Piper. . but there was no "weird vibe"
after 30 issues of showing Trickter being a homophobe, they were showing in this issue that he had learned to respect Piper, and considered him someone he cared about.
and no, not in the sexual way. . but the way one would love a Brother.

I don't think Mxy was worried about Prime. He pretty much took what Prime did to him and laughed it off. He was too worried in this issue. My guess is that Mxy is being hunted by someone else as well, possibly the New God killer

Personally, I think they're going to get together. Imagine if those two had a kid--a being with pre-Crisis Kryptonian powers and the magical powers of Black Mary Marvel. Their offspring would be omnipotent.
Maybe that's the bad guy for Final Crisis?

Actually, at Newsarama, Carlin said it was Prime he was afraid of and he was only acting tough in the last issue. He pointed out (correctly) that if Mxy wasn't scared of Prime he wouldn't have let him kill the evil Zatanna. He ran away to save himself.

Not that I know about. However, Miracleman/Marvelman (who was based on Captain Marvel), had a child with his wife while in his transformed state. The child had powers when it was born, and seemed to be even more powerful than her father.
Incidentally, Kid Miracleman likely inspired a lot of Superman-Prime (after he went bad). And Alan Moore had a psychotic Superboy (the child of a future, authoritarian Superman) in his proposed "Twilight of the Super-Heroes" outline.

Probably not, because her body's floating in space, and she's still a murderess, even if she does survive.
And why do they keep showing Earth's Mightiest Mortal Hoo-Hoo?
Sad to see Trickster go. But a face of road rash, and a bullet to the forehead and one to the chest seems a bit unlikely to survive. Whether or not Pied Piper dons the outfit, or that picture is symbolic will still have to be seen, I guess.

Trickster was the one who recruited Piper to work for him in the FBI, and before that he'd gotten Piper to help in his scheme in Zhutan. While true, let's also not forget that most of Trickster's characterization was at least partially influenced by the Top pulling a mental whammy on him Zatanna-style for so many years. The Countdown Trickster is long after the mindwipe was removed from him.
Sucks to be Trickster now though. Neron must be having a field day with him.

Yeah, but the Top himself was violently homophobic (he told Piper that he planned to wipe out gays, and called them "maggots"), so it's hard to imagine he made Trickster or anyone else more tolerant towards gays. Then again, the Top is pretty nuts, so he can be tough to predict.

Word. I've seen more of Mary Marvel's ***** than I have of Batman's face in Countdown, by far. Maybe it's some kind of weird upcoming DC marketing campaign, or something.
