View Full Version : X-Men #205 (Messiah CompleX chapter 5): (not)Sexy Summary, Spoilers, Discussion!

I'm sorry, I couldn't make this summary sexy enough! Blame Marvel, I say, for an issue that was all fight and deadly bussiness, with no sexy shots around!:p
The issue begins with Layla and Jamie gawking at the mutant internment camp that will comfortably house every existing mutant in the future. Between bickering and exchanging petty on-liners, they share with us the fact that the records back in the library they checked out had been conveniently edited so that they'd find nothing of great importance there. Their only plan now is to somehow get into that camp!
In Antarctica, Sinister threatens the X-Men. They're just five people against an army of deadly mutants, how do they expect to win? Angel tells him to try and read their minds, to realise it's actually six X-Men and not five. The ass-whupping begins! But why is Storm is fighting with a bloody spear? Is it some kind of Wakandan tradition?
Back at Xavier's, Slayton the Sentinel pilot is bored. Nobody's invading the place as they're supposed to, and Emma won't let him peek at the girls' dorms. Inside, Bishop is nagging at Scott for not waiting for his awesomeness to arrive at the mansion before sending the team after Sinister, also mentioning that his used his cop powers at people in the mutant underworld to get some info as well. Emma is sitting at the couch in a trance, with Bobby looking after her. She's the sixth X-Men fighting the Marauders in Antarctica - telepathically linking the other five mutants and shielding them from any psyhic attack. Cut to Antarctica- the fight is getting more and more intense! Nice shot of Frenzy being a pain in the ass for Colossus (she kinda looks like a fly bothering him while fighting, though!). Angel goes after Sinister, telling him to give them the child, and Sinister is being all bitchy. Further away, Gambit looks like he's bailing the fight! But Wolvie chatches up and kicks his nicely shaped butt.
In Washington, Deathstrike orders the Reavers to kill the New X-Men. X-23 spirals out of control and attacks while Santo asks Pixie to get them out of there, then gets injured by Deathstrike. Pixie takes her time instead, so Rictor butts in and reascues her from some Reavers with a big ass gun he probably stole from Cable's coffin. He and Anole urge her to calm down and try to teleport everyone out of there. Pixie attempts a blind teleport and everyone's now spread between Washington and the Mansion, in some innapropriate places. Pixie's screams reach Emma, breaking her link with Logan's team. Bobby offers to go bring the students in (he's now a glorified chauffer, lol!)
Back in Antarctica, Sinister has locked Emma out and now has the upper hand in the battle. However, Logan kicks Gambit's ass (also stabs him in the side) and demands answers about the baby, which he acquires. Sinister lashes at Angel and Piotr (who then gets ganged up on by everyone around), while Storm covers for Kurt, who sets out to find Logan. Karima dumps Angel's limp body at Logan, who gets caught off guard and then looks all morbid, leaving an opening for Karima to blast him. "Angel" was actually Scrambler, who got screened by the delightfully bitchy Lady M, in order to turn his healing factor off and make Karima's blast lethal. Kurt bamfs in and saves Logan's ass, teleporting him out, but not before her gets badly injured by one of Scalphunter's hollowpoint bullets. Logan tries to link with Emma to tell her about the info he got from Gambit. Sinister doesn't have the baby either, it was an X-Man who took her instead! Meanwhile, the Sentinels outside the mansion are taken over by something eeeeviiiiiiiiiil. So just as Cyke and team X are trying to cope with the new info and getting Wolvie's team out of their predicament, a Sentinel hand thrashes the wall and grabs Scott! Bishop, Bobby and Beast run out to face their new enemy; the re-programmed Sentinels, who now want to DESTROY the X-Men! Who would have thought?!?!?
Somewhere in a snowy place, a fluffy bunny is watching the renegade X-Man who holds the mutant baby girl and runs in the wild like crazy. Who could that white-haired, robotic-enhanced, big ass gun weilding mutant be?!?!?!?! LOL
I bet the bunny has a deeper role into all of this!
The greatness continues with this latest installment! I wonder what Cable's loyalties will turn out to be like after the crossover. Could it be that he actually grows into an INTERESTING character?
EDIT: Another summary for the ish can be found here: http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showpost.php?p=5891929&postcount=135
Kudos to Andres!
Santo was the one to ask Pixie to pull a retreat? Now that's different!
Mike Carey said that we'd see a resolution to the Sentinels always hanging around the mansions soon. I imagine this is it!

I thought an X-Men fell in this one? Is it Nightcrawler or Hellion>?
Sounds like poor little Pixie wasn't quite ready for combat. Nice to see Santo using his head for a change.

They've all ready explicitly said that the baby is not Jean. They've all ready explicitly said that the baby has no pedigree at all. It's not related to any established characters. How do I know this?
Well, they explicitly said it.

I'm already ready for the next issue. This episode almost seems like another "transitional" issue, until we get to the really good stuff.

As of this issue, Angel, Nightcrawler and (mostly) Hellion are the ones who are or might be severely injured, but no death is confirmed yet. There's a chance that one of them might have died by now (so the "an X-Man falls!" info can be technically accurate), but the fact that none of them is confirmed dead makes me think that someone else is gonna bite it.

Interesting. Thanks Mitsaso, I am waiting for the trade to buy anything, so have to settle for spoilers and maybe a quick read in the store until then.

Well, they explicitly said it.
They also claimed Cable was dead. ;)
But yay for the internet. Everybody predicted Cable would return in the crossover and, hey, they were right! Some people even predicted what role he would play and that turned out to be correct also. Yay for the interweb.
By the way, I won't get this issue until Friday :( so does this issue show the "classified" Uncanny X-Men covers for next week?

They explicitly say a lot of things. Often these things are bald faced lies, so that option is still open.

Well it obivious what must be done now, the X-men have to either protect Cable or get Cable to help out the mutant baby. :D
And the baby's a girl mutant ?!?
Does the baby girl have any hair yet, and if so what color? :D

So Cable's back already huh? I didn't mean to spoil this issue for myself, but I absentmindedly clicked on this thread looking for something to read. But it seems not much really happened (except for the Cable reveal) so all's good I guess. I'll be waiting for the next ish and hopefully some more story progression.

also mentioning that his used his cop powers at people in the mutant underworld to get some info as well.
What info? Big whoop if it basically isn't anything helpful. I like Bishop in theory but his "cop" powers (his "deductions about the traitor could have been done by a kindergardener better) have so far been pretty down right pathetic as far as I can tell unless it's in a series with only him. Better he stick to absorbing energy and redircting it if so.
Angel goes after Sinister, telling him to give them the child, and Sinister is being all bitchy. Further away, Gambit looks like he's bailing the fight! But Wolvie chatches up and kicks his nicely shaped butt......However, Logan kicks Gambit's ass (also stabs him in the side) and demands answers about the baby, which he acquires.
The only question that even comes of this issue is why/how Gambit even knows this - why Wolverine would assume he would - why Gambit tells Wolverine and doesn't even try to fight or really evade him (and look what he gets for his trouble). Does Gambit know because he tipped off Cable and hopes he's right or does he know because he saw Cable in the town and let him go or even more? It is obvious Sinister doesn't know this or he'd have the Marauders after Cable already.
Bobby offers to go bring the students in (he's now a glorified chauffer, lol!)
Or glorified baby sitter
Who would have thought?!?!?
Is this the same rhetorical question we should be asking when Cable shows up at the end?
Who could that white-haired, robotic-enhanced, big ass gun weilding mutant be?!?!?!?! LOL
And why is he just running in snow when he should obviously just get out the same way he got in before everyone else. :D

I think it's safe to assume that Gambit is a double agent. He probably made it seem like he and Sunfire actually got Cable killed while he actually informed him about the baby's birth so that he would get there first. There's also a serious chance that he got away from the rest of the fight so that Logan could reach him there and whup his ass to avoid any suspicions, while he shared the Cable info with him.
I'm sure at least one of this things is accurate. However, they're all nice ways for Gambit to get some of the X-Men's trust back.

And you've got nothing to complain about; Rogue's still at the center of everything, with a writer who is a huge fanboy, and a guaranteed spot in a book after the shake-up. Whining about her not doing anything for a few issues is just being foolish.

I'm curious, did they explain why they only sent five guys after the Maruaders? I mean, between two teams of X-Men and X-Factor, you'd think they would have committed more muscle to the mission.

I think Scott needs to turn in his leadership card if he thinks that was enough of an edge against not only the Marauders, but Mr. Sinister and Exodus. At the very least, they should have added either Monet or Warpath for more muscle.

Mr. Sinister
Exodus
Lady Mastermind
Joanna Cargil
Tempo
Gambit
Sunfire
Vertigo
Arclight
Random
Mystique
Malice in Omega Sentinel
Riptide
Scalphunter
Carmella Unuscione
Scrambler
With Sinister, Exodus and Lady Mastermind helpless, all that was left was a few Class 25 and lower brawlers who Colossus could easily deal with. The wild cards were Scrambler who has to make contact with his victim, Tempo who can't hold time still for long and holding many objects puts a major strain on her powers, Vertigo whose powers can be a real pain in the ass and Sunfire who I think Storm would be able to deal with. All four were targeted first.
Granted you have Arclight and Omega Sentinel who are more then Brawlers but they didn't do as much as they should have.
They were outnumbered and out powered. But they managed to subdue the big guns on the Marauders side.
So in essence what you have is 4 X-Men(Won't count Angel) vs:
Brawlers easily dealt with by Colossus:
Joanna Cargil
Carmella Unuscione
Can't see doing much:
Gambit
Mystique
Scalphunter
Wild Cards that were targeted by Storm and Nightcrawler:
Tempo
Sunfire
Vertigo
Scrambler
Eh they didn't bring their A game:
Arclight
Random
Malice in Omega Sentinel
Riptide

Bishop said they didn't send enough, but Cyclops said they didn't have time to send in extra people, so he ordered Wolverine's group to forge ahead.
And, to be fair, they were pretty much completely running the field until the psi-disruption.

That makes sense. I imagine they certainly were in a hurry. And I suppose it's just as well all the X-Men didn't go if the Sentinels are attacking.

I suppose it was on the writers' behalf so the plot point remains that the X-Men lose the battle. The strike team should have just shown up with Iceman, Monet, Siryn, Strong Guy, Warpath, Rahne, Bishop, and Xavier('s mind) in tow and killed the entire Marauders/Acolytes team for good. Then they would save about 80% of the grief they're going to get in Messiah Complex Chapters 6-13. But that would shorten the story and make the X-Men pseudo-villains...

The time it takes to radio in for M, 5-10 minutes. Hell, they had time to notify Cyclops about the Marauders' location. They could've been like... Dude, while you're sitting there drinking coffee in your office, can you maybe take a minute or two to call X-Factor's office?

He already knows that their numbers are well beyond six and that things might not go as planned (i.e. Emma getting her connection severed, and Regan pulling off an illusion on the team). Even if there wasn't enough time to call for backup, it would've been better to have Emma cloak the team and follow the Marauders while feeding coordinates to a second squad, who could move in for the kill from the opposite direction. Come on, Summers is supposed to be a mastered strategist.

I think the operative words in that sentence is "suppose to be" and to which I would say unless it's been in Astonishing (and even there it's just been in one issue really), he has not been for a long time. His handling of pretty much everything right before and resulting from House of M has been beyond inanely stupid. I still can't get over the idiocy of all the mutants on the front lawn bit or how poorly the New Mutants have been run. Scott's best leadership decisions have mostly come in the very heat of battle and very little in the planning and execution prior.
One question: is it explained and maybe I missed it how the X-Men suddenly found Sinister in the first place when they've supposedly never been able to do so before?

I suppose the point of his development on Astonishing and his decisions on Messiah Complex is to give him his leadership skills and edge back.
And I think it was Amelia Voght who led the X-Men to Sinister on X-Factor's issue.

Yeah it has, the X-Men found Amelia Voight who used to be an Acolyte and she knew where to find them, I suppose due to past experience or maybe she's kept in contact. We don't know how she knew only that she did.

I'm curious, did they explain why they only sent five guys after the Maruaders? I mean, between two teams of X-Men and X-Factor, you'd think they would have committed more muscle to the mission.
Or Since Wolverine is a member of the New Avengers he could have had Strange teleport the team up their when the X-men started to get their butts kicked? Don't tell me Logan doesn't have a nifty Avengers communicator watch

Yea but you don't understand Joe Quesada's marvel comics. Sure Wolverine is on Avengers but Joe doesn't want the books to cross over into eachother. He isn't particularly fond of the x-men other than a cashcow for stupid fans who dare like x-men more than avengers. Logan is only on the team because he is a cashcow when it comes to the general public and that's really all Joe is interested in. So Logan being buddies with the sorceror surpreme is conveniently ignored when it comes to storytelling.

Of course, he could always end up being replaced by a different version of himself at some point later on in the crossover (as Marvel keeps hinting). Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
The only weird thing, and it's probably just a coloring error, is that his left arm appears to be flesh and not metal. Like I said, though, probably just a coloring mistake.

Well, with all of this stuff in the news lately about new discoveries in the field of physics and string theory being very plausible (i.e., multiple universe theory), and thus time travel being theoretically en vogue again (since alternate universes eliminate the major paradox of time travel, which is "How can you change the future without preventing yourself from having come back in the first place?"), I'm starting to soften on my stance on characters from alternate futures.
Just a little bit.;)

Well he's definetly gonna go after Cable...if not to just talk with him...he thought he was dead, killed by Sinister and the Marauders. If Cable refuses to give the baby over, I say give the X-Men the baby b/c obviously the town in Alaska is gone, then maybe Cyclops decides to do something.

Yeah, but that's the beauty of String Theory. There's an infinite number of alternate universes out there, so the number of alternate futures is limitless. Any event can set an alternate path in motion, such as Cable killing Apocalypse for example. His future where Apocalypse rules will still exist, but now he will have created an alternate universe where Apocalypse does not rule. And there will be a limitless number of alternate universes out there, each with their own past and future states. Thus infinite alternate futures.
The only question that remains is basically this: What do you really accomplish by sending someone back in time to change the future? Since it really can't change, rather it just branches off into an alternate future. The people in that hellish future where Apocalypse rules will still be there regardless of what Cable does in the present. You'd think they would know that in the future (if, in fact, the String Theory is true).
A few scans have been posted at Scans Daily which made me focus on Layla and Madrox dupe. It turns out that a mutant started the race war in that future but the library records have been altered so that they don't know the name of the mutant, almost as if someone knew they were coming, says Madrox d.
So . . . The mutant that starts the race war - could that be the baby and that be the reason that Cable has her? This doesn't seem to mesh with the "1 minute before dawn" new beginning theory, however.
Sinister did his best to obliterate information about the future. Is he also capable of destroying information in certain futures in anticipation of Layla and Madrox d?
So many questions . . .

11-28-2007, 07:45 PM
For Nyss. And I'm just joking about Angel, he's awesome so don't hate me Angel fans.
It starts out in New York, 80 years from now, Jamie and Layla are trying to figure out a way to get into the internment cap. Apparently the library records had been of edited of some important information: who was the mutant that started the race wars.
Back to present time, the X-men decided to face the 102 marauders with 5 of their best. Well sorry, 4 of their best and Angel. Sinister has a bunch of wires connected to his head and tells the X-men that he wasn’t planning on killing the X-men yet, but GAME ON. Storm is trying to sound intimidating I think but she kinda fails and Sinister points out the obvious: How d 4 good X-men and Angel plan to win this? Angel tells Sinister to read his mind and find out, and Sinister realizes he can’t! Emma is giving them backup! BIG SPLASH!
Cut to the mansion. The Sentinel pilot is spying on the X-men and I’m going to interrupt briefly to point out that the ONE apparently hires pedophiles to drive those sentinels. He says that Blonde lady gived him a nosebleed and a headache whenever he tries to spy on girls’ dorms. Like them a little young, huh Slayton? That’s just way creepy. Anyways… back to the important stuff, Bishop is complaining about not being included in the Sinister mission. Apparently he didn’t make it on time because he was doing some investigations of his own. Scott then explains that Emma has been linked to the other 5 X-men protecting them from telepathic attacks.
Back to the Sinister people, Storm throws Vertigo against Scrambler, while Nightcrawler get’s rid of Exodus after punching Rpitide. Meanwhile Colossus is facing Frenzy, Unuscione, Karima and Arclight and well, holding his own. Wolverine then uses Scalphunter’s gun to shoot Random and Tempo and breaking Scalphunter’s arm in the process. Angel then realizes he doesn’t really do much and goes to talk to Sinister and ask for the baby. Meanwhile Gambit runs away from the fight but Logan follows him.
At the purifiers base, Lady deathstrike orders her reavers to be cruel with the kids. Laura warns them to stay away from Hellion. Pixie can’t focus to get the kids away from them. Oh noes! Luckily BFF Anole comes through and tells her to close her eyes and focus. So it works kinda…they all land everywhere! Her wings are shredded once again which is why she screams! (probably also why she goes to the infirmary) Emma tells everyone what happened and Iceman is gonna go get the kids and Rictor (so Rictor is safe), but now she can’t get back to the Marauders. OH SNAP.
Wolverine and Gambit are fighting and Gambit is totally put off by the fact that Wolverine is asking for a baby. Sinister now uses his telepathic attack to take out the X-men. First Angel. Then Colossus, who suddenly stops moving and Frenzy and Unuscione proceed to hit him hard. KLUD KLUD. I guess those Acolytes can hold a grudge. Storm realizes that they no longer have the upper hand and orders a retreat. She gets all UBERGODDESS on us and uses her wind and lighting powers. Karima now throws Angel unconscious body at Wolvie, he catches it but then it turns into Scrambler. And Malice mocks him. “Oh man. The look on your face” And the blasts him completely. That little bait and switch illusion brought to you courtesy of – “Regan Wyngarde, X-man. Retired”. Luckily Nightcrawler ports in and kicks Lady M in the FACE! I guess the X-men hold grudges too. As he’s about to escape with Logan he gets shot! He manages to port but then falls unconscious. Wolverine tells Emma that an X-men took the baby.
Pervy Slayton (the pilot) is feeling kinda sick. He’s getting these strange silver things on his body and suddenly he;s connected by wires to his sentinel. And then we get my favorite panel. Cyclops is there talking and in the window behind… a huge sentinel eye! So Jurassic Park. Awesome, it attacks the mansion, Emma falls and the rest fight Slayton and probably Lex since the other sentinel is the Megaton (the one with the big cannon on his back).
Last part, Cable and the baby.” One minute before dawn kid. We’re doing fine”
Next Week: Cable on the run, A battle at the mansion, and Cyclops unleashes his secret weapon.

Pixie's hair is all long; Bachalo's Layla is meant to be; Storm is killin' it; and Malice is not playing!

His powers are also based on his psychological state. Previously when he teleported, if i'm not mistaken, it was when he was servin under his savior Magneto, a feeling that woul dgive him ultimate back-up, confidence, dedication and power. He's supposed to be a menally powered character anyway, removing teleporting isn't that big of a loss for him. Honestly, if he always fought like he did during Bloodties it would be boring because no one would ever be able to beat him. Exodus pretty much does suck. he's a sheep. BAAAAAA.

The issue was wonderful. Carey really knows how to keep a Rogue fan on his toes. There was so much going on. I loved how Malice caught Wolverine off guard. I also loved seeing Logan w/o his powers  Guess he ain't so sexy when his real age shows, LOL. I also have a strong reason to believe the baby is Jean. But who knows with all the wierd stuff happening nowadays. I also think it would've nice to have M in the fight. Then maybe Rogue can accidentally bump into her and BOOM, we have the old Rogue back and bye bye Monet Lil' Miss Perfect :D

Skrull!!! Bleh, I've been so disappointed in the way Sunfire has been handled lately. Unless he's a double agent or still under Apocalypse's brainwashing, then this is completely out of character for him. Does Sunfire do anything or speak at all this issue? Sunfire flies around all issue and then proceeds to tell Scalphunter he is an imbecile for letting Nightcrawler get away.
An excellent issue. I knew Carey would write this rematch fantastically.
The X-Men's fates are unknown and it is left on a cliffhanger.
Storm does not show that she is scared of Sinister, the Marauders and the Acolytes combined as she takes them all on single handedly at the end.
Colossus is last seen being beaten on by Frenzy (she seems to focus solely on Colossus - perhaps a grudge from the Acolyte days), Unuscione & Sinister. Has Sinister done to Colossus what he did to Cannonball? One touch and Piotr is down and traumatized.
Angel's fate is also unknown as he is seen being thrown telekinetically by Sinister.
Lady Mastermind seems to be the only new Marauder who fits in with the old team.
Sunfire, Random, Tempo & Exodus are very useless during the fight.
Mystique & Gambit don't even bother to join in. Could the 2 be working together for Rogue's sake? I am convinced both have their own agenda and I am intriqued to find out what it is.
What is the liquid that takes over the Sentinels?
Once again, Emma Frost is knocked out 3 seconds into a fight.
I'm concerned where some missing X-Men are. I hope Shadowcat, Hepzibah, Warpath & Darwin appear next issue.
What will also happen to Cannonball & Blindfold?
So many questions. Cable having the baby raises so many more.
Sensational art by Bachalo. He fits layer upon layer of action into the book.

Ok, so I have a theory about this issue and the x-man who dies. It's Storm. Here's why: She's the only real fighting x-man left in a sea of marauders, she is not featured in any of the future solicitations, and she is one of the x-men on the left in the picture from which X-editor Axel Alonso said one would die. Here's the pic in case you forget or never saw it: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j297/eelgi001/killingfield.jpg
Its called the killing field and was posted in some feature with Axel weeks back leading up the Messiah Complex. He said that when it was all over, a character to the left of the picture would die. We know wolverine doesn't die because he goes on to x-force, i can't see cable "dying again", mystique was never truly an xman and her death wouldnt be that impactful, so that leaves gambit and storm.....which would be a big death for most. All the drama and injuries in this issue make one easily forget Storm is left alone behind unless you go back and read it a few times.
Lastly, my other theory which may be a little far fetched. On the next to last page, we see cable trekking through the snow. In the first panel, there is a rabbit. Call me crazy, but could it be Mystique? She is present in the intial fight but suspiciously absent for the rest. It doesn't explicitly state Cable's location so it could not be far from where the marauders are since both are snowy environments. So this theory might be shaky, but I stand by my Storm theory.....
Thoughts anyone?

Wow, this is a very interesting theory, but I have no choice but to be skeptical due to the fact that Storm is such a huge character. She also has a huge fanbase. If they killed her it would be completely unexpected. She's also married which leave a very depressed and angsty Black Panther. Her fans would lose it. I mean, I believe it could be her, but I also believe it can be Mystique. I have a feeling she's going to finally prove her love for Rogue by sacrificing her life for her. Your theory on Storm is very on point though. Would love to here what some of the rest of us think about it.
I really can't see it being storm either. Her fanbase is too huge and although marvel do make some idiotic decissions over the years that seem like "nah...they aren't stupid enough to do that." and then go and do it, i don't think this will be one of them.
Kill off bishop, would anyone really care?

Well he saved Sams life and destroyed the diaries and he told Logan that Cable had the kid and didn't tell Sinister this. So its safe to say that he's looking out for the X-men. He'll probably switch sides during a big battle between the X-men/X-Factor and the Marauders/Acolytes.

Loved this issue. Great art, lots of action, and a killer reveal (even if half the net already predicted it).
Obviously the X-men weren't going to win a 6 vs 15 fight, but I don't think they were trying to. They were just trying to find out about the baby and then get out of there. If it hadn't been for the New X-men things would have gone as planned.
Also on Exodus, doesn't he need to absorb psychic energy from those around him to use his various powers? Not much of that around in the middle of nowhere. Plus, Exodus has always been inconsistent in fights, plus Emma was messing with him.
Cable with the baby was hawt and Bachelo draws such a nice Pixie! His Rictor didn't really look like Rictor though. Scott's secret weapon is obviously Gentle. And I'm betting Bishop is the one who bites it in the end.
Who took over the Sentinels??

Yeah, Rictor's look has been kinda incosistent during the crossover, mostly because the artists have such different styles. He's always hot, though. But I loke Eaton's version the most.
It' not as bad as the case of the New X-Men, most artists don't seem to care much about them. Just look at the students on the one-shot (X-23(?) in pink!) and the WWH tie-in, here they end up being faceless nobodies...
The uniform thing on X-Factor might be because of the timing, but Hellion changed his look a while ago, you'd think they might notice. Rockslide took long enough...

Yeah, Ramos drew Hellion with really short spiked hair in X-Men 203, and then with extremely long hair in the latest New X-Men, which takes place a week later at the most.
I do like Bachalo's subtle art details, such as having Jamie wear Layla's backpack as if he is chaperoning a child (which he is, I suppose), and Cable wearing the Cloak that Creed left behind on Providence.

*Pixie's alone in the woods (hopefully Predator X is still somewhere in the Midwest just yet, and not between the capitol and Westchester.)
That about cover the injury report?
Lots of ouchies. Isn't Predator X in Alaska chasing after Cable and baby?

Hard to tell. He's in snowy woods somewhere. Last time we saw Preddy X, he was in the Rockies. It's likely. I mean, they can't foreshadow Predator X being involved for like... 10 chapters and then just throw him in at the end, do they? He at least should get to hunt established characters twice during this thing. Once for a "WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT!?!" Moment, and twice for, "Oh no, NOT THAT THING AGAIN!" Moment.
Or something. I dunno.

Seems just as likely that he's gonna find Cable, though.
I'd make the detour to off an actual fairy. F**k the Hunger. Or Fate. Whatever.
I have an idea. We can let Lady Deathstrike battle it out with Predator X.

Hating on Pixie? Tsk, tsk. I suppose it's just that she's a "love her or hate her" character.
Although... didn't Bachalo's style on her kind of make her look like a Gelfling from "The Dark Crystal"? That was kinda neat.

Also, in the preview for # 206 it states:
"Layla Miller and Madrox make a startling discovery but their chances of escape appear bleak. The hunt for the baby continues as the casualties mount and a shocking turn of events reveals a traitor!"
Could Cable be the traitor?
It does feel like this isn't going to end well between Cable and Cyclops.
But what if the traitor isn’t to the x-men. Maybe its Gambit to the Marauders. They called the traitor a wild card. Then after the Marauders get back into the hunt for the baby, the baby falls into the hands of a major player in the conflict, but things aren’t always as they seem. Which is some thing Carey has said about a Gambit.

Yea he wants to fuck the baby.
Next retarded question.
it was clearly a joke, don't get your panties in a twist.

I dunno, I don't think they'd call someone who's doing good, a traitor. They described Lady M, Mystique, and Omega Sentinel in the same way when #200 was described.

On the next week section- Anyone think the secret weapon is Nezhno? Doesn't he have something like extreme strength? Seeing the variant cover, there's got to be a good reason he's there. He could help alot in destroying sentinels.
Just scanned it man. Here you go.

I can't see the other hand but he looks like he's just wearing a glove on his right hand.

Exactly... so where are his T-O parts?

His left arm definitely looks like it's his own organic. It is fleshy, his elbow that can be seen anyway. But who knows. This issue was insanely great. I knew the New X-men would screw the operation somehow. All the X-men teams are in chaos right now too. The art was fantastic and this book keeps getting better. Gambit might be working two sides. Mystique disappeared and I still have no clue about the Sentinels.
Another thing. I thought Pixie was cool. But she is no where near hardcore and doesn't belong on any team right now.

Maybe it's a different Cable from one of those futures Madrox and Layla are visiting? Which would mean that our Cable did technically die.

If you're referring to that glimmer of white, towards the shoulder area, that's the "Captain America" star he has on his outfit. It was there when he first arrive at the mansion, and more prominent when he interrogated Sabertooth.
Though looking closely at the picture, it looks like the virus has subsided, because the flesh on his left arm/elbow is visible.

Oh wait, you know that silver stuff that takes over the Sentinels? Could that have something to do with Cables techno-organic virus?

No. Although, as a fellow Iceman fan, I hoped you'd be on to answer a thought I had... would it have been hilarious to have the former team prankster pick up the kids after this excursion? Picture that lecture on the way back...

You guys suck! Pshht. Stupid kids these days."

because he has his super strength thing going for him.

So I got around to reading X-Men #205 a few minutes ago...Nightcrawler seems to be finished, Gambit looks like he got stabbed but I guess he didn't(with Bachalo's art, who knows), Exodus(likely most powerful mutant on the planet depending on Wanda's status was teleported out), Emma Frost can stop Sinister's telepathy?(WTF?!), Wolverine gets punked out in the end, Storm's fate is yet to known, and the worst part of it all...that joke came back on the last page. Good action but what a horrible development.

BAAAAAA.
The whole theme of the X-Men(Cable, Jean, Cyclops) are that they are sheep and you're condemning someone who takes action like Exodus? Yeah right. And you have NO IDEA how his powers work..you're completely confusing him with Shiar Imperial Guard Gladiator.

I'd love for him to make a guest appearance in New X-Men as a continuation of #205 when they're all being transported by him.

And you have NO IDEA how his powers work..you're completely confusing him with Shiar Imperial Guard Gladiator. You WILL accept the fact that Nightcrawler defeated Exodus.
In the past, Exodus has lost miserably more than once.
His powers are deeply unstable and you can't guarantee that a powerhouse is going to win every fight.
Exodus has shown a few displays of outstanding power but overall his track record in fights is nowhere near Sinisters.
And you have NO IDEA how his powers work..
Obviously neither do you because Nightcrawler owned him by teleporting him onto a snowy mountain. Bhahahahaha! Stoopid Exodus, so much for being able to hold off the avengers, the x-men and the militairy forces of genosha.

Defeat him? He got teleported away so the X-Men didn't get squashed in two panels. I mean..some SERIOUS punk outs are coming. It's only going to get more hilarious. Exodus has lost miserably in the past? The Austen book and that Uncanny annual? If he lost so bad, why isn' the in prison for his terrorist crimes? Come on...it doesn't work and it will never work.
Deeply unstable? When did Exodus' name change to Cyclops or Chamber? And Exodus in Bloodties is a bigger display than anyone in this crossover. The one thing Sinister does have on him is he outsmarted Nate Grey with ease.
Obviously neither do you because Nightcrawler owned him by teleporting him onto a snowy mountain. Bhahahahaha! Stoopid Exodus, so much for being able to hold off the avengers, the x-men and the militairy forces of genosha.
