Take the "Jim Lee" out of your statement and I would agree with you.

Leave the Jim Lee in, and you'll have better art than most other current artist

Morrison and Quietly on Archie and I'll buy 10 copies each.
Lee's just so bland and flat, even for Archie

I'll take Joe Staton and Pat Kennedy instead.
Morrison would be horrid. It'd all be clever wink wink refferences to the Love Triangle Showdown and dialogue from past Archie "milestone" events slightly reworked just enough not to be a blatant rip off.

Unless you get an artist who is much better than Lee, and there's plenty of those.
I'd suggest Gene Ha - I want to see every fold in Archies jacket.

But then Archie would only come out once a year.

Or it could read like an actual Morrison comic, as opposed to the imaginary ones dreamt up by bitter trolls.

"Then Jughead says "I've got a matchbook and this room is filled with natural gas, now let Veronica go or we're all toasty crispies.""
Wait? this is the right forum...

Yeah, that one through me as well, but then I saw who it was posted by and realised their opinion doesn't count.

Not even that. Maybe every two years.

I kind of want to see a Frank Miller Archie.

I kind of want to see a Frank Miller Archie.
Maybe he could use it to satirize the very style of comics that made his name!

Archie takes Veronica hostage, refers to himself as the Goddamn Archie, and he beats Reggie within an inch of his life.

If you look above, the obligatory "goddamn..." joke has already been made:
Archie takes Veronica hostage, refers to himself as the Goddamn Archie, and he beats Reggie within an inch of his life.
Please proceed to hang your head in shame.

Alan Moore, deconstructing Archie.
Archie the indecisive womanizer.
Jughead the food Addict.
Reggie the Arsehole Mastermind.
Veronica the socialite with loose sexual morals.
Betty the poor blond with a heart of gold.

Grant Morrison would write an amazing Archie.
I think Lee would be able to handle the house style quite well, actually.

Half of Hush is quotes from actual stories.

Since I rolled my eyes, wanted to punch Miller in the kidneys and immediately lost interest in the book the first time it was done...unlikely.

It is? I never even noticed this about Morrison until I started rereading some of my old comics. It's untrue. I've only ever skimmed Jeph Loeb and I won't even read it since I learned he was a producer on SmallVille. I guess he's even kitshier than I thought.
