Premise of thread is simple, using current heroes (and anti-heroes where appropriate), who would you choose for a black ops team ala X-force? Only one member may be non-mutant and no more than six peeps total.

Yeah but his teleportation is far more quick and precise - he can get in and out and take people out before they know what's hit them - like that classic scene of him taking out 3 Hellfire Club guards by hitting as fast as he could teleport three times in a row. I'd like to see Blink or Magik try that!

Kurt also has unrivalled agility, handy wall clinging AND the ability to become virtually invisible in shadows!

Agreed, you'd have to be very careful about picking your tank characters in these kind of teams or even have to do without.

Here's my super secret stealthy sly X-team!

Beast - For the his enhanced senses and technological knowledge.
Wolverine - Because he's willing to do whatever it takes to get a job done.
Pulse - He's a sneaky thief who can use his powers to get around security systems.
Karma - Her powers could be invaluable when attempt to gain unauthorized access or when you need to learn other's secrets.
Karima - She's built for hunting mutants.

I'll keep it at 5. More people involved just increases the chance that someone slips up and loses cover.

As you can see from my choices, I think the new X-Force team (plus Caliban) is pretty much the optimal black ops team. But since Wolverine is spread so thin these days, if I had to dump him from the line-up I would do something more akin to the following:

Warpath
Wolfsbane
X-23

Wolverine - For obvious reasons
Nightcrawler - Teleportation, even if it is loud and stinky
Iceman - He can freeze walls for easy breaking in
Colossus - For breaking above walls and peoples faces
Psylocke - For ultimate badassery
Galactus - In case you need to kill a planet (hey you never know)

Wolverine- He was a black ops agent, and supposedly one of the best ever, you got to have him.

Mystique- Brilliant spy, excellent at espionage and she isn't opposed to opening a few throats.

Shadowcat- She's a top level ninja, trained by Ogun and Wolverine. Her power lends her to this work. She's also the hacker and computer genius for the group. She also has a bit of a nasty side, Ogun nearly brought it out permanantly, in this group atmosphere she would soon adapt to their beliefs.

Cable- Strategist, top level teke, secret ops natural, a top level soldier. Also with his teke he can adapt to whatever the team needs eg. doctor, mechanic, nuclear scientist, etc.

Northstar- A speedster that knows sometimes the bad guys have to die.

Nick Fury- He's assembeled a mutant black ops team and he's going to back them with whatever they need and whatever SHIELD has.

Mags is powered up (see uncanny)

I would be as logical as I could picking a Black Ops team. Meaning, that anyone too flashy appearance wise, sorry Nightcrawler and Anole, would be too risky, in my opinion. So here is my take on X-Force: Black Ops Team.

X-Force:
Cable (Leader) -He is the bomb when it comes to this stuff!
Warpath -Muscles beyond compare and a bad@$$ brawler.
M -Telepathy is a must when your stratigising an attack, oh, and flight and extra mucsle is cool too.
X-23 -I feel that Wolvering has gone a bit soft over the years and that he lacks the kind of unattached ferocity that X-23 still has.
Northstar -Superspeed is just handy in a fight against a crowd.
Boom-Boom -She has a past with this team and provides a much needed power boost.

Support:
Domino -Kinda like the Zordon of the crew, but can most def throw down with the best of them.
Aurora -Is still finding sanity to be a little surreal, but is mostly there to help out Domino and the team.
