Would have to read Infinite Crisis first. But yeah it's great, at least I think so.

Do you have to read Infinite Crisis first or if you do read 52 first is it like hard to get into or something??

52 flows directly out of Infinite Crisis.
It's a bit like reading the sequel without knowing what came before -- in some cases (Terminator 2) you can do it, in some cases (Lord of the Rings #'s 2 and 3) you really shouldn't.
You should probably be okay, though I haven't re-read 52 so I can't say for sure.

really the first few issues deal with like after math of infinite crisis but after that i think it barely talks about it. Only thing you need to know is that the big 3 arnt around.

'52' follows up on a whole lot of stuff. Elongated Man's arc stems from Identity Crisis. The Black Adam stuff is a continuition of Black Reign and Black Vengeance arcs from JSA. The Montoya stuff continues a character arc started in Gotham Central.
The Booster Gold and Lost In Space arcs do follow from Infinite Crisis, sort of. But I don't really think that there really is much in IC that you eally have to know to enjoy '52'. All you really need to know is that something big just went down. And that the trinity is taking a year off.
IIRC everything gets adequetely recapped.

It just seems odd if you dont read infinite crisis, like the story comes out of nowhere, wheras with infinite crisis you get it, since that explains most fo the dcu anyway. it would just feel like you're missing out on something.

I read it without reading Infinite Crisis, and I got along alright. There were a few little things you miss out on, but in the Vol. 1 trade they give you a whole page summary of what happened in Infinite Crisis. You'll be fine.

I don't think so. 52 is pretty good at standing on it's own... you may want to know why all the big heroes are gone, in which case read Infinite Crisis, if not just read 52.
It's an amazing series. Really amazing.

God, I wish Countdown was half as good as 52...
52 was my absolutely favorite book for a year, countdown makes me sick to the stomach, so badly its done.

It just seems odd because you'd want to know form the start why these things happen in 52, infinite crisis set it off.

52 is a complete materpeice,

Yup. It did start out as a sequel to Infinite Crisis. But then became its own beast. Its pretty much self-contained and I highly recommend it

Nah, simple stuff, there's a real big fight, with bad writing and bad art and lots and lots of blood and at the end of it Superman is powerless, Batman and Wonder Woman are looking for themselves.
There. Saved you $25 on a really crappy story.
52 is pretty easy to get into.
EDIT: here's the best summary of IC evah! Told in crayons!
