When he was first introduced I always expected him to join up with generation X eventually. Then he turned up as one of Emplate's henchmen. Can't recall what his fate was at the end? Still alive? Depowered?

I think he's likely forgotten as part of this 'the 90's were bad' purge over at Marvel. Not saying they weren't :p Just that throwing the baby out with the bathwater is a bit extreme.

You definitely should. After the Lobdell/Bachalo initial run, the Faerber/Dodson stuff was the best Generation X ever got.

Except Dodson never felt right for the book (his teenage girls were soooo curvy and round).

As for Vincente - LOVED him in GenNext. Not so much the non-Bachalo appearances.

Vincente should totally show up and atone for what Emplate made him do. He'd totally fit in with X-factor.

While I like him as a baddy too. and really I just want him used. He was so freaking kick butt in AOA as a good guy. He was funny and has a fantastic power set. He's been mind controlled by Emplate since he was intro'd in 616. It gives the perfect out for him to break free and use his powers for good.

He should have been reintroduced to with the New X-Men. It would have been interesting having him deal with his past as avillain, also with Emma.

I approve of Vicente because much like Bedlam he is a great character but very underrated.

I approve of you.

I loved the Bedlam brothers in AOA. I always felt like they (And Switchback and Ms. Steed) should have been the ones to make it through rather than Sugar Man, Holocaust and Nate Grey.

It's odd that AoA had so many amazing characters that ultimately FAILed when brought into 616.

See Abyss, bedlams etc etc.

Sadly, the Bedlams weren't brought in until about three years after AoA, and they weren't really expanded on enough in Factor X. Then you figure, they were split apart, and one made a hero, and one a villain in 616, so other than having the same powers... they were nothing like the originals.

Vincente was made into a villain, and he was used all of what, twice in Generation X? It was really a waste of a great character, agreed. He just got pushed out to the fringe.

Abyss in 616 really got hosed. He was such a cackling maniac in AoA, and then in 616, he was in one issue of Cable as a dude named Nils, who had the Legacy Virus. That was it for him, until the X-Corps storyline. Which, then he was made a distant relative of Nightcrawler in "The Draco" (shudder) before getting depowered, repowered by Quicksilver, and sucking all of X-Cell into his body at the end of that X-Factor arc. Again, for as evil and awesome as he was in Amazing X-Men... he was wasted in 616.

Sigh.

He was in XMEN LEGENDS 2 though. Unlike VINCENTE! Who needs his own game. I see Vincente as the new Mario.

He provided comic relief in serious situations
as immature as he seems, Xorn killing him off was dumb
He's a pink one-eyed Rockslide :redface: and Rockslide in Young X-men is not my thing...

There are two ways of looking at that. One he's biologically the age of the Gen X'rs. But, Vampires don't age. so maybe he's younger and the New X-Men kids age. But he's not a true "Vampire" in the Dracula sense, so who knows. It's up to the next brave writer to determine.

Dodson's work actually varied a lot throughout his run. As time went on i think he had a better take on the characters. Unfortunately, I don't think he was adequately able to capture the awesomeness of Vincente's power.
