What do you want to happen to gambit he was already forgiven once by the team for what happened during the mutant massacre. He joined up with apocalype yes he had his reasons and fought against the x-men then joined with the Marauders and the attack he and sunfire made on cable resulted in his death(I dont know cable is really dead).Messiah Complex is still underway so we dont know if his actions down the line can some how redeem him somewhat. But given how many times the x-men have forgiven and forgotten and it has come back and bit them in the a#s.Is there anyway chance that gambit has a future with the x-men or are they done.

I want Gambit's future to be far away from the microcosm of the X-Men, and far away from Rogue. I want to see him out in the Marvel Universe, working with a non-mutants-only team for a while.

He's not a big enough draw for an Avengers title, but somewhere else?

Maybe Louisiana's Initiative state team?

I want him to remain Sinister's sidekick or stay out of the X-Books. He's horrible to read as a so called "hero".

He opens a cajun restaurant.

Lol. I dunno. Back before it launched I always said Heroes for Hire. When it did Gambit really didn't fit it. But then this was largely because most of the new cast didn't really fit the name 'Heroes for Hire' from a brand identity point of view. It really should have had more of Daughters of the Dragon connection, what with Shag-Chi involved, too.

If this were still 1997 I could easily see Gambit hanging with Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the Black Knight. That's the kind of team he should be on.

But like I say, he's not a big enough draw to be a New Avenger, unless Bendis were to develop an urge to write the character.

If they go back to sneaky, mysterious, theif Gambit he could work in X-Factor or X-Force

I woudn't mind that but to make it work it has to be Fabian Nicieza as the writer.

I think it's about time we saw another Nicieza team book...

Gambit. Maybe Deadpool...

Even I would end up liking Gambit if Bendis had a random itch to write him.

Gambit wont be any good as a bad guy what would be his reason he doesnt want power or personal gain ,however even his dark past was lame i mean he lead the Maurders through the tunnels after he found out what was really going on he turned on them ,the X-Men were bigger F..ucks for leaving him to die, anuway i DO NOT want to see Gambit near the X-Men after MC honestly id like it if he got his own Maxi about the Guild there was some great charracters there Bella ,Lapin, Jean Luc ,Marcie the list goes on .....but its a fools dream ,plus rumor has it hes a gonner in MC

I love Gambit & Rogue, but I don't like them together. It's old and tired and it does nothing but slow the characters down. It's on and off every other arc, it's like pick one and stick with it.

I want Cyclops to cripple or kill him as revenge for what he did to Cable. And I really hope the X-Men don't forgive him or Mystique.

You would hope after the traitors lead by Mystique, and Sabretooth for that matter, that the X-Men would be selective about whom they let back in after turning sides, but it has happened only a thousand times (was going to go with 100 times as my exaggeration, but that number might have been lower then the actual number). But even I would have a soft spot for the cajun charmer...and I'm a dude. I think after he saves Rogue and escapes with her from the clutches of Sinister (totally hypothesizing).

Gambit & Deadpool?

I'd read that. Sneaky, thieving Gambit and crazy assassin. That could be a funny combination.

i think he still has a future with the team.

i think that he'll end up helping them out somehow in messiah complex and while he may not return as an active member he'll be an ally or something. i guess kind of what he was doing in early xxm.

Why would Cyclops need to do that? Cable will be back soon, so he can cripple Gambit himself if he wants.

Technially Gambit didn't do anything to Cable, Except give him a message (wasn't it one minute before midnight or something like that) When Sunfire tried to shoot at him Gambit stopped him. Cable killed himself or it looks like he did the only ones saying he is dead is marvel and when have they ever told the truth.( we do know very well Cable is coming back ) Gambit destroyed the Diaries and saved Cannonball at the same time he stopped Sinister from getting the information. Also didn't he stop Sinister from killing Rogue. So far Gambit has not done anything to any body to deserve to be killed or crippled by cyclops. If you think about it Gambit doesn't look like a traitor at all. The only ones who want him dead are the people who dislike him and have never liked him.

Actually Cable was seriously injured internally from Gambit's card explosion. Whether he would've died from those injuries or not is irrelevant, as he felt that he had to blow up Providence to prevent valuable information about the future from falling into Sinister's hands. Gambit was trying to obtain that information for Sinister (plus he injured Nate in the first place) so he's probably even more responsible for Cable's (alleged) death than Sunfire is.

Now, having said that, I have this sneaking suspicion that perhaps Gambit is an X-men plant in Sinister's camp. So maybe that's how Cable knew they were coming in the first place, and perhaps he got out in time and was in cahoots with the Cajun the entire time.

I like Gambit more as a villain than I do as an X-Man, I wouldn't mind seeing Remy out in the marvel universe as a hero or a villain. But I would rather him not be on the X-Team anymore.
