Hey I just got back into comics after the whole civil war series and one series I love and have stuck with is Thunderbolts.
So I was wondering if anyone has a list of when the series started and up to the civil war tie ins. I'm trying to get back issuses but I dont know how far back it goes.

The Ellis run started in #110, if that's what you meant. There were 3 more issues as tie in to CW, just before that.

You should check at what point they changed their roster and go from there I think its not that many issues after CW.

Well it started as a spin-off from Marvel Comics' Onslaught crossover, back in 1997.......................
There's a lot to catch up on.:D
The team has changed a lot since then. It's a similar concept in some ways, but vastly different in others.

the original series also ended at issue #75 (with several issues thereafter that had nothing to do with the thundebolt concept) and it was brough back as new thunberbolts for (around) 18 issues before the title was changed to thunderbolts at #100. so its goes from #0-75,#100-current
You simply need to read Ellis's run with #110, it's really popular and a great book. I think they have released a collection of the "faith in monsters" arc but im not sure.

Hell if this ain't the best book they're putting out right now. The next ish has been delayed and won't be released till 19th of Dec. but looking at the preview page it seems that Gargan is going to have a little face-to-face -time with the symbiote...

I hope it leaves him and goes back to brock....no-one else miss the scorpion or the true venom? Plus eddie is gonna die unless it merges with him again, stupid cancer.

Nah. Brock's too mentally disturbed to make him interesting both with and without the symbiote. Now Gargan as himself and as Venom are two completely different personas(at least when he loses control). But this of course is from the twisted mind of Warren Ellis and while I'm sure he could, and would, make Brock-Venom more interesting I hope they don't bring him back.
There's been more than enough stories featuring Eddie Brock in my opinion.

I miss the Scorpion but not so much true Venom. I like the idea of Venom but all the anti-hero stuff and what not in the 90s killed my enjoyment of the character. While I enjoy Thunderbolts take on the character and the cancer storyline that Jenkins did, I still haven't jumped back on the Venom bandwagon. Though I'd rather see Eddie Venom then Gargan Venom *sigh* I miss crazy Scorpion... I really do.

Though I don't mind the new Venom, I honestly thought turning Scorpion into Venom wasted a perfectly good villain. Both Scorpion and Venom are fine villains and merging them into one character does sort of seem like a waste.

Yeah my theory too dude, i miss the scorpion in many ways...sure he wasn't exactly A-list but he could of been

There was Thunderbolts 0-75 then the book got weird for six issues and was cancelled. After that came the Avengers vs. Thunderbolts 6 issue mini series. Then the New Thunderbolts 1-18 then 100-109. The Avengers/Thunderbolts mini is the bridge between the old series and the new.

I like Gargan as Venom. It's interesting to see an established villain like Scorpion take on Venom's identity, and dealing with all the crazy shit that goes with living with the symbiote.
I wish this title came out more frequently than bi-monthly. It's one of my favorite comics, but it feels like it's lost some momentum because of the schedule.

On Tom Brevoort's blog at Marvel.com. He posts single preview pages of different issues every now and then.
