X-Factor (Post MC)

So it has been indicated that there will be one (and possibly 2) new members joining X-Factor after MC is done. Who do you think will be joining the team?

Personally, I think there will be 2 (one of the older X-men and one of the new X-men). One might be Forge (old blood) and one of the New X-Men (new blood) as a playmate for Layla. :)

I think Nocturne could be a real possibility. He has inquired once before about using either her or nightcrawler and both times he was shot down. Seems to me this might be his chance.

I'm pretty sure Guido is staying with the team. And I don't think Rictor is going to die.

Maybe, maybe not. But even if he does leave the team I doubt he'll be leaving the cast.

Let's face it, Guido isn't exactly A-List. I doubt any other X-Writers want him.

Mark my words, x-factor will find themselves in a mutant ghetto by the end of Messiah Complex. Mutant Town will be populated again with mutants but the government will lock it down and make mutants govern themselves. Guido will be sheriff.

What about Bishop?

He used to be the major mutant detective around mutant town, so he know's his way around town. And his powers/abilities would fit well with the team and his surroundings.

Plus he's been nowhere to be seen except for some preview pages for MC and you think someone would put him in a book and not have him go back to limbo and wait for the next big thing like he did after Civil War.

Characters I'd like to see

a) Darwin I think what Darwin needs above all is some character work and I think X-factor would be the perfect place for this.

b) Karma It's about time someone uses this New Mutant. If they start investigating again, it would be easy to get confessions and stuff if you get Karma on the team, although a telepath would be simpler. Damn you Monet! :( I can't stay mad at you though.

c) Hellion If New X-men is indeed canceled , one of the most probable reasons would be because the school is closed which would send the kids back to their families. Maybe Hellion is tired of his multimillionaire family ignoring him so he sticks around in mutant town and gets a part time job at Madrox Investigations.. specially now that the "receptionist" or whatever it is that Layla does, is in the future.

Rictor will probably stay safe, Guido will be the sheriff but remain part of he book and Layla will probably be back by the end of the first arc.

Rahne is definitely leaving though.

I pray to God it's Deadpool, then I'd have my two favorite books combined into one (X-Factor and C&D). Plus storyline wise it would make sense, if X-Factor needs some more muscle that doesn't mind the "dirty" work. Imagine the possiblities with character interactions:

Maddrox: Deadpool and Jamie would be trying to top each other in one-liners during combat, and Deadpool would kill Jamie's dupes whenever he gets bored.

M: This would be the mother of all conflicts, M would try to strangle Wade in every panel.

Siryn: Old flames flirting again?

With Wade in the mix the stories write themselves

I actually think I want to see Darwin on one of the main X-Men books (so that's... Uncanny). I'm sure PAD would write him better than anyone else (especially Brubaker...), but I want to see him at the forefront of the X-Men, to make him more established.

Now that I've said that, though, I'm not sure his character could sustain more Brubakering. To X-Factor it is!

Although I have a slight desire for Anole and Rictor to start a whirlwind romance that hurts Vic and sends him running back to Indra, I am not yet convinced that we've seen the last of New X-Men or that Rictor will survive Messiah Complex (let me be wrong, let me be wrong, if they kill him I will be so angry!).

Karma and Northstar would be perfect for the title - Northstar's personality fits right in (although I'm not sure where Aurora would go), he and Monet are just screaming to have panelspace with each other. Karma I'm less sure fits into the dynamic, but she just needs someone to write her! And her powers would work well.

I think it'd be interesting to see Rogue in X-Factor. She's already been driving a wedge between herself and Cyclops et all. I think it'd be good to give her some spotlight away from the X-Men. It would have to be a bit temporary, though.

And, either Karima or (I wish) Lady Mastermind. Regan + Madrox - now that'd be sweet.

on another note, i think that whoever is added to the book should have to be visually distinctive. i think this character should instantly be distinguishable from anyone else in the book. like maybe they should be 6-8 inches big and named Shortpack.

If Strong Guy does become sherrif then I'd imagine he'd still be involved with X-factor's investigations.

Deadpool would breath new life into Strong Guy. I can just see Guido searching the house for his Gucci belt only to find Wade wearing it as he walks out the door for a night on the town.

While I certainly don't want Anole hooking up with ANYONE right now I do thik he'd be a great addition to this team. He can become invisible by blending in and he's storng. He takes the place of Wolfsbane hide in teh shadows and follow you role. He is also kind and compassionate, another Wolfsbane trait. He's also be a great counterpart for Layla. Just think, it's like Will and Grace, the child years. It'd be hillarious. Not to mention he could bond with Rictor. And I'm sure Anole would have some choice words for M when she Diva outs. Or he'd idolize her.

Yes, I agree, that would be stupid, IF that was done by any other Marvel writer than Peter David. The man deserves all the praise he's garnered over the years as all his scripts are intelligent, witty and, when need be, thought-provoking.

As for the new team-mate(s), my vote goes to Deadpool and Bob ( Agent of Hydra ) because knowing Mr. David's sense of humour I believe he'd have a field day with Marvel's current comedy double act. Make it so! Those of you in the know will get that reference...
